What a difference a storm named Sandy makes, eh, Mr. President?
Thanks to Sandy, Barack Obama can act presidential once again at least on TV. Sandy allows him to get on that phone with those FEMA bureaucrats and tell them to stop talking and do something. And Sandy brought him praise from that chunky Republican governor from New Jersey.

Step back from the ledge, and take a breath. Look at the macro picture.
Romney has been in a solid national lead for 3 weeks. In the 3-5 point range, with a Dem turnout model for 2008. Gallup early vote has him up 7 points. All the swing states are moving his way, and only Ohio is still questionable (although I am confident R will win OH). And Romney is expanding into PA, MI, WI, and MN.
Every poll shows greater repub enthusiasm. Gallup survey of over 10k voters (with a MOE of 1%) show a 15% swing in voter ID from 2008 Dem to 2012 Rep.
And why won’t the hurricane hurt Obama more than Romney? It’s impacting almost all blue states. Its a massive storm, but not katrina. All I have seen on TV is Bloomberg and Christi. And they are all talking about how their local resources are taking care of things. Nothing about federal response. We aren’t see National Guard vehicles on every street corner. Obama has actually been pretty invisible the last few days. And the people who are getting news, are getting local news on what is happening and what they should be doing to save their homes and their lives. They aren’t concerned about a press photo showing Obama monitoring their situation. And the 80% who aren’t directly impacted is 90% of Romneys votes and EVs.
How many signs do we need?

Tonight I overheard Christie being interviewed on CNN by Piers Morgan, part of it, “as I recall,” went like this:
PM: ... now I’d like to give you, as a sleazy Republican, an opportunity to kiss up to our wonderful President Obama, if you’d care to.
Gov. C: There’s nothing I’d like better. President Obama is about perfect as far as I can see, and I’d lick his boots any time.
PM: That’s great, if only more of you sleazy Republicans would rise above politics like you just did and kiss up to President Obama, the world would be a better place. And now I’d like to say a few more words about our munificent President Obama ...
... well, “as I recall it,” you understand.
I heard it the exact same way.
As I said on another thread, I half-expect Christie to come out and endorse the Kenyan tomorrow. His support was that glowing, and he could not think of even a single positive thing to say about Mitt Romney.
People notice things like that, and in a close election, it can make a huge difference.
I think Christie is in the process of pulling another “John Roberts” on us.
Killed Obama, saved GM, posed for Sandy... he’s still a jackass.
My feeling is that Christie was trapped. As a governor of a disaster striken state, he did the only thing he could do ... kiss up to President Obama. This is why Sandy is such a godsend for Obama.
Yep, that fits my opinion of the man, even though I think he is too liberal, I think he will take action to get the mess straightened out.
I heard Rush say last year, that he confided to Rush that he might only have 1 term, because he intended to do everything that was needed to fix the mess, and a lot of people probably wouldn’t like it.
It’s the fraud. Cheating.
would be funny if they started using Islamic names
I think he's just bored.
Yep.
It is also about whether or not the Hurricane has killed Romney’s momentum. Not merely over whether or not Obama is able to benefit from the storm. I mean, Romeny has been forced to play the role of relief worker instead of getting more critical votes on OH, and OH is the place where his opponents are most likely gonna look to win by voter fraud and “undocumented voters” and what not, so Romney needs a truly commanding lead to win OH. That is why people are so frightened.
