This morning President Obamas campaign indicated they are going on the air in Pennsylvania and sending Joe Biden to the state trying to protect a state that just one week ago was considered to be safe ground. One possible reason? The enormous GOP edge in absentee ballot returns in the state, creating an enormous and unexpected hole for the Presidents campaign to dig out of.
In 2008 the GOP edged the Democrats by just 2% in absentee returns. As of today the GOPs lead is 18.8% a 16.9% bump in a state Obama won by 10% in 2008. Republicans have turned in 55.2% of the absentee ballots to date while the Democrats have returned just 36.4%.
The Romney Victory team has been on the ground in Pennsylvania for months with over 60 staff and dozens of offices. We have made over 5 million volunteer voter contacts including over 1 million volunteer door knocks across Pennsylvania. That voter contact is paying off in the absentee ballot returns and clearly the Presidents campaign sees it in their numbers. Thats why they are playing defense in the Keystone state as Governor Romneys momentum allows us to expand the map.

So they just assume if they receive a dem ballot, it was a vote for Obama and a republican ballot is a vote for Romney?
Party registration?
Not necessarily. A lot of conservative Reagan Democrats won’t vote for Obama.
How is that silly for someone to think it might be delayed. If there is no power (for machines) and people are still evacuated (can’t get to their precinct), how can the election be held?
I am registered as a dem (from 2008 to vote for Hillary to keep Obama out) and never changed back. I have sent in my absentee ballot, so when they see it, will they assume it’s a vote for Obama, cause it sure as h*ll isn’t!
The ballots can be counted by hand. It will just take longer.
We held elections during the Civil War and both World Wars. A hurricane is not going to prevent the election from taking place next week!
It might help if Biden remembers what state he’s in.
No polling place will be without power, at least generator power.
Not in PA if there is a poll watcher on site.
If no one is watching, those demonRAT liars, cheaters and thieves will not only open them, but they will destroy any pubbie ballots and re-vote them as demonRAT. It is crucial to have poll watchers in any demonRAT strong hold.
I go into the belly of the beast, can't say where because I have my little friend with me and I don't want any upfront grief.
The place where I spend the day isn't safe, even if you have a friend with you and they wish I wasn't there but I'm too stubborn to die and let them have their way {at least for this election}. demonRATs are not real Americans, they are communists and when Romney/Ryan win, there will be a reaction unlike anything we have ever experienced over a political election.
That is why I believe relying too much on these absentee ballots if foolish. I think quite a few dems will vote for Romney and can’t imagine many republicans voting for Dumbo.
Please send Biden. Biden needs to travel every county in PA and campaign. The Obama campaign needs to run videos of Biden’s debate performance. We need Biden 24/7 until Election Day.
If PA goes to the GOP this cycle, I will personally drive to Cranberry Township (suburban Pittsburgh) and drink some of that swill they call Pennsylvania beer.
PING
If elections are delayed due to Hurricane Sandy, ...It’s a WEEK away. We’ll have sunny skies and Sandy will be considered the media hyped joke it was.
Happily for us, they actually do think sending Joe will help them. ....We need a laugh here. You know, like ol’ plugs did all night during the debate, HAHAHA.
And remember, the "indies" are a strong subgroup and if they are---as all surveys indicate---going to Romney by even a few percent, it's going to be a very long election night for the "mmmm mmmm mmm" crowd.
The elections are not going to be delayed. Already the sun is coming out in New England and everybody's headed back to work. NY/NJ were hardest hit but they should be getting back to normal over the next day or so.
