With one week to go, states that were once considered Obama strongholds now look less solid. Republican groups are putting resources into Minnesota and Pennsylvania. Team Obama brushes off these incursions as wishful thinking by Republicans, but noticeably they are putting money and muscle into both states. Minnesota has been added to Bill Clinton’s schedule. And, Obama campaign officials admitted that they will once again start running ads in Pennsylvania.

So, what is happening in Minnesota? Demographics. As our ABC/Washington Post poll has shown, Romney has a substantial lead among white men. Minnesota is one of the least diverse states in the country with 90 percent of the electorate in 2008 made of white voters. In other Midwestern states with small minority populations, like Iowa and Wisconsin, the Obama campaign has flooded the airwaves for months with anti-Romney ads. They have done nothing of the sort in Minnesota.
Moreover, the airwaves in states like Ohio and Virginia are already heavily saturated. The ground game is the name of the game now in those places. That means that SuperPAC’s with lots of money can get a better return on their investment on the airwaves in places like Pennsylvania and Minnesota than in the eight battleground states where the campaigns have been most heavily engaged.

If no power though will people turn out at the polls? If so will it be Romney or Obama supporters who turn out? I think this *could* help Romney as the eastern side of NY is the liberal part...if they can be without power for a week then we may have a chance.

Not so sure that Obama has a lock on the Black American vote. Oh.....yes he will get 75% of their votes, but......millions of Black folks have no use for this phoney, anti-American, flim/flam, shyster!!! And.....75% of that vote gets Obama voted out of office in a massive landslide loss to Romney/Ryan!!! Not sure how many Blacks will vote for Romney/Ryan, millions will sit on their hands and not voteat all on election day!!!
Fact is: It is literally amazing that so many Black folks still give their support to the great Black failure, Obama, not for the country, but for all American Blacks. Go figure folks!!! I guess they like being Obama slaves, adrift at sea.....on the Obama, NAACP, CBC, Black economic & opportunity slavery Plantation!!! Sad!!!
CO will go Red. I live in a very Red County and in 2008 I saw a number of Obama signs and bumper stickers. I’ve seen only one Obama sign in my town this year.
This state is a lock for Romney. O has been running TV commercials non-stop here since the summer but they aren’t working this time around.
MSM the last week will be putting up a good face....watch for the period of two days before the election and the begging, to get out and vote coming from the left...

Obama will not suspend his campaign and either will Romney. It all starts up again on Wednesday. The storm will be a million years ago come Tuesday. I know it doesn’t seem like that now but, that’s how fast life moves nowadays.
Obama will likely lose votes according to the experts. I don’t know what it is about the dems but, every little glitch causes dems not to vote. They can’t get a license, they can’t show ID, the can’t get to the polls in the rain. What gives? In any case, Obama already has the storm states in the bag so, what’s the big deal anyway? Pennsylvannia and Virginia will be up and running come election time, no problem.
Mitt Romney will probably not be able to attack Obama on the campaign trail but, he really wasn’t doing that anyway. He was more about closing arguments. Obama was the one attacking.

Indeed, he just started running a pathetically horrendous ad on our prime time TV in Mpls-St. Paul.
It probably is wishful thinking, though. No matter what the polls say, we have that unpolled bloc of dead Chicago voters to overcome. That bloc will account for an additional 30,000+ (as needed) Obama votes.
You’ve got that right. I’m a broken glass voter in Pa. Not even a hurricane will stop me from voting. 7 days left.
That may be true in MN, but the Germans that came here to Pittsburgh were often Catholic or Protestant but not Lutheran(or at least my ancestors).

I’d say by Thursday, maybe late tomorrow, the media will have turned their attention to wanting to postpone the election. It’s going to be fun to watch them come to the realization that the fed and their boy king can’t do a damn thing about it but watch.
A scene might unfold like at the end of Trading Places where Chris Matthews is crying: “Turn those machines back on!”
