Coming hot on the heels of speculation that some Jeep production may be moved to China comes a bombshell from a Bloomberg report. Fiat is now considering moving Chrysler and Jeep production to Italy.
According to the piece, "To counter the severe slump in European sales, (Fiat CEO Sergio) Marchionne is considering building Chrysler models in Italy, including Jeeps, for export to North America. The Italian government is evaluating tax rebates on export goods to help Fiat. Marchionne may announce details of his plan as soon as Oct. 30, the people said."

This could be a setup. Zero stops the "move," and becomes a hero in Ohio.

Chrysler should be getting phone calls from the WH, DOJ, IRS, FBI, etc., to shut up about this until after the election, or even to announce that they will not move any jobs overseas.
That’s what gangster government does.

If this is being orchestrated as a trick they’d better hurry the hell up and get Fiat to change their minds.

They don’t fear Obama like they used to. Only the Republicans in the House & Senate still fear him.

Is everything a democratic ploy? Maybe the leftists are just idiots who don’t know how to run an economy.

Yes
When your contact says you have to pay the guy who mops the floor $30 an hour, I can predict with 100% certainty what will happen in the long run, and you are seeing it.
Union have destroyed the middle class by pricing jobs so far out of whack with the market.
To: Livin_large
This is such a stupid interpretation of this story that I am depressed so many FReepers swallow this bilge.
Fiat has always planned for production of some small Jeeps in Italy.
This does not affect US production, especially since they have dumped billions into the Ohio assembly plants.
Don’t fall for this stupidity.

The union most likely gave the guy the job title of “Floor Sanitation Engineer.” That’s worth at least $40/hr, but the eeevil CEO is still screwing him.

Maybe the leftists are just idiots who dont know how to run an economy. Their toadies may be idiots, but their crooked sponsors are definitely not. The reason is that the left envisions a Cloward-Piven meltdown as an opportunity, not a problem. The poor among them (errantly) "think" they have little to lose and "somebody else's money" to gain. The extremely wealthy look to pick up the pieces from their "debtors" (the former middle class) selling their assets for pennies on the dollar.
