So far, just rain and wind (and the sound of sirens) where we live here in South Jersey. We live about a one-hour drive from the coast, but we’re not far from the Pine Barrens.
Yesterday morning, on the way to church, we spotted a deer running back and forth, looking confused, on the side of the street in a spot that was not near the woods.
Christie on now dissing the mayor of Atlantic City. He’s not gonna take the blame for those who refused to heed the warnings. Good for him.
Just got home from work...hope you’re safe. Lot’s of my old haunts up north getting wiped out...prayers go with you all.
Update from Central NH 43.6N 71.2W - substantial falloff in wind speed past hour. We had sustained 30g40 from about 1330 to 1630, now down around 10-12g18-20. 57F with heavy rain. 29.42 falling. Few branches down, power still on.
>Im in Newport News and it has been nothing but a 2 day drizzle event. I did see a large oak across the road when I too the kid to Chick Fi La earlier. Im surprised it fell, I havent heard any wind.<
Go figure. West of you, around Roanoke, the wind is blowing pretty heavily (35-45 mph), and the gusts are nothing to sneeze at. Further west, it’s snowing. The winds are supposed to be way stronger by 11:00pm.
I am your neighbor across the river. We still have power, but some friends just lost theirs.

Barometric pressure in #Philly now 28.39”; this breaks their all-time low pressure record of 28.43” set in March ‘93 superstorm #Sandy
Thank-you!
Right now, raining, windy, thankfully, for now, power still on. For how long I do not know. My older married sister who lives in FL is keeping tabs on me for both my own and my cat’s safety.
The only THING I ask of you and ALL the FRpers from the rest of the country is PLEASE keep the east coast RIGHT NOW in your PRAYERS. That is the best help and support those of us in the affected areas can HAVE. THANK-YOU and GOD BLESS in SHOUT-OUT. :)=^..^=
Wind is seriously picking up in SE Connecticut. Power has gone on and off a few times, and based on TV reports, coastal flooding is fairly minimal, but 2nd high tide is still a few hours away.
Prayers for your parents—the stress of the storm could have been a contributing factor.
6:00 p.m., Rockville, Maryland — a little wind, lots of rain, not bad so far. My sister is holding down the fort on our house on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, about two hours from Ocean City. She says it’s not that bad so far, although our back yard has a bit more water than I’d like (inland, I don’t have flood insurance).
Wow!
bttt
I live in the greater Hartford county area, so far just rain and wind. The wind has died down a bit, but still raining. As long as the power is still ON, I will be online. For when I do not know only God knows. Just got back yesterday from a retreat for Christian/Catholic women. As I said, the best thing for those in the rest of the country is PRAY.
Take care, I’m in New London county. Our stuttering governor is on right now. Ugh, he so doesn’t instill any sense of competence.
Excellent news! Let’s hope you have seen the worst of your weather with this storm.
Thanks, Mom! My street is so quiet and dull (thankfully)...people walking by under umbrellas like a normal fall rainy day. Just hoping that power holds up. :)
Just north of Philly, not much rain, lots of wind. Power is holding, but has flickered a few times. I’m surprised it stayed on this long. Think the eye is pretty close right now if not right here.
Checking in ping!
