6:00 p.m., Rockville, Maryland — a little wind, lots of rain, not bad so far. My sister is holding down the fort on our house on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, about two hours from Ocean City. She says it’s not that bad so far, although our back yard has a bit more water than I’d like (inland, I don’t have flood insurance).
Just north of Philly, not much rain, lots of wind. Power is holding, but has flickered a few times. I’m surprised it stayed on this long. Think the eye is pretty close right now if not right here.
Had this storm hit Florida instead, half of the posts here would be about flood insurance and how Floridians should move back 100 miles from the coast. Funny, I haven’t read any such directives for those in the path of Sandy.
