But they also say young people were told to chant against an anti-Islam film as a cover for the assault.
TRIPOLI, Libya - It began around nightfall on Sept. 11 with about 150 bearded gunmen, some wearing the Afghan-style tunics favored by Islamic militants, sealing off the streets leading to the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi. They set up roadblocks with pickup trucks mounted with heavy machine guns, according to witnesses.

Very detailed and interesting time line - it brings together a lot of isolated incidents (and nearly forgotten incidents, because they were barely reported).

I think that's definitely true.
The video had 4 iterations, btw: in the first version, "Desert Warrior", the main character who later became Mohammed was refered to as the "Terrorist George" or the "Terrorist B." Remember how the extreme left and the Islamists used to refer to George Bush as the "Terrorist George Bush"?
I think the mysterious Nakoula (formerly Bacile), who actually appears to have yet another name now, was probably making a standard anti-Bush movie for the Islamic market. His background is pretty unclear, except for some fraudulent financial activity he was engaged in, and he seems to have Islamist connections and be neither a Jew nor a Christian.
I think somebody decided that taking this movie and morphing into a supposedly "anti-Muslim" movie while putting out the (false) message that it was made by an Israeli Jew living in America and supported by Coptic Christians, and being promoted by a fundamentalist American preacher who had already been cast as a villain, was going to be a real propaganda coup. And so it was, since the first place it was showed outside of the internet was Egyptian state TV, as a warm-up to 9/11, so that the mob could be rallied when the AQ forces showed up with their heavy weapons and stormed the embassy, succeeding in planting the black flag of AQ on the American embassy.
And Obama and Hillary were ready to go with it, since they were no doubt involved in setting up this meme, probably to protect something even more nefarious that they were up to.

Haven't researched this one, gleeaikin. Will put on the to do list.
On your first point, or first paragraph. I agree it would make zer0 look weak. The overriding thoughts from the zer0 crowd may have been the media will help us to spin out a win if it goes down the way as planned. I do not know if this was the plan, but zer0 would try something of this sort, of this I have no doubt, if he thought he could get away with it. Have no links to offer at this time, only speculation and observations. The thought of this being a possible plan (hostages taken to be traded for the blind Sheikh) is not mine, though with zer0 and zer0's saudi handlers, it is a possible explanation of a possible plan.
placemark and notation to review thread. Thanks everyone.
His new job as Community Organizer for Al-Qaeda ?
Hmm, well he does have experience...
I assumed his new job would be the voice of Weather on the Eights.
gleeaikin, have been reading and researching. So far am finding no connection to the Romney campaign by Grover Norquist other than the numerous connections mentioned by liberal reports and some minor worries from Conservatives regarding a tax pledge which was allegedly signed. Norquist is reported to not want increases to Military spending. Norquist wants the Military gutted, and has been criticizing Romney in relation to raising Military spending.
Norquist has connections to democRATs and appears to be one of their best friends. It is odd that democRATs are attempting to tie Norquist to Romney, in that they report it over and over. Like I typed, there are concerns from some Conservatives and Norquist is labeled (perhaps wrongly) a Republican lobbyist. I can see why the questions are being raised, but at this point, Norquist appears to have no connection to the Romney campaign but rather instead maybe is a democRAT plant to stir controversy.
There is one thing and one thing only our Constitution requires funding for. That one thing is defense. Norquist is against funding defense of our nation. He (Norquist) appears to be dangerous, though can find no information which leads me to believe Romney or any other Republican takes him seriously. On the matter of defense of our nation, Norquist sounds like a, dyed in the wool, liberal.
additional review required for digesting all the information contained on this thread. Thanks, once more, everyone.
Actually, the concern I raised, which comes from reading some things posted here at FR, is Norquist’s ties to Islamic sources including the fact that he has a Muslim wife. I never suggested he has anything to do with Romney or his campaign. However, his no new taxes pledge, even when the Dems are ready to give up a lot more than they get, has tied the country up in knots. Now you say he is against military spending. Sounds even more suspicious. Frankly, if I were a Republican candidate I would not touch his pledge with a ten foot poll and if I had already signed it, I would cancel my pledge.
yep, confirmed.
Canceling the pledge. Have no doubt if adults (R&R) win, and the coattails are long, the right things will be done. Maybe am wrong, but four more years of zer0 and democRATs holding the Senate scares me. May adults hold the House also. I believe adults will hold the House.
you are correct, gleeaikin, you never inferred such. I included that information because there was so much which had been written attempting to tie norquist to the Romney campaign. My apology if you thought I misunderstood the intent of your post. A prayer that clears up everything.

At least the AP is still writing about Benghazi, unlike censoring MSNBC.
“Anybody have any new leads on this point”?
Those will come when Rice, HRC and Obama are under oath in front of Congress......../s
Of course, there may be a reason to keep an eye on him...
Has to do with some group his church marched with; can't quite recall what group it was though it may strike me later. Forgot what Jones' church was called, too... seemed like it was involved in a kind of furniture biz.
bttt
Glad you remembered the Terry Jones incident! I think Obama’s regime probably spent a lot of its time compiling lists of handy enemies that it could use in various ways. With Obama, it’s all about propaganda, and whipping up hatred against unlikeable people and blaming them for nefarious acts is a typical dictator move. Obviously, the Justice Department has become nothing but Obama’s enforcer.
This is the same Justice Dept. that recently “lost” two terrorists, so I guess they keep tabs only on people who don’t share Barry’s dreams.
Aside from that, thanks for bringing up the Dempsey connection again.
