gleeaikin, have been reading and researching. So far am finding no connection to the Romney campaign by Grover Norquist other than the numerous connections mentioned by liberal reports and some minor worries from Conservatives regarding a tax pledge which was allegedly signed. Norquist is reported to not want increases to Military spending. Norquist wants the Military gutted, and has been criticizing Romney in relation to raising Military spending.
Norquist has connections to democRATs and appears to be one of their best friends. It is odd that democRATs are attempting to tie Norquist to Romney, in that they report it over and over. Like I typed, there are concerns from some Conservatives and Norquist is labeled (perhaps wrongly) a Republican lobbyist. I can see why the questions are being raised, but at this point, Norquist appears to have no connection to the Romney campaign but rather instead maybe is a democRAT plant to stir controversy.
There is one thing and one thing only our Constitution requires funding for. That one thing is defense. Norquist is against funding defense of our nation. He (Norquist) appears to be dangerous, though can find no information which leads me to believe Romney or any other Republican takes him seriously. On the matter of defense of our nation, Norquist sounds like a, dyed in the wool, liberal.
Actually, the concern I raised, which comes from reading some things posted here at FR, is Norquist’s ties to Islamic sources including the fact that he has a Muslim wife. I never suggested he has anything to do with Romney or his campaign. However, his no new taxes pledge, even when the Dems are ready to give up a lot more than they get, has tied the country up in knots. Now you say he is against military spending. Sounds even more suspicious. Frankly, if I were a Republican candidate I would not touch his pledge with a ten foot poll and if I had already signed it, I would cancel my pledge.
