Yes, those winds do cause damage. It’s certainly not the end of the world as we know it. They come. They cause damage. They go. Ho hum.
Now winds predicted in this range for the east coast are being used to blow everything else off the nation’s media for the foreseeable future.
And then Obama will send in cash by the boatload to anyone with a hand out, and they’ll hold an election.
Good grief.
Even FoxNews is falling for it.

Yes even Drudge , Conservatives, Fox, and freepers are falling for this Sandy “perfect storm bs”. unbelievable . some freepers are calling me conspiracy nut lol. these forecasts are from Noaa.GOV and the media . BLS faked the unemployment numbers. This Sandy is to get Benghazi gate off the news as they did even on Drudge. this is the October surprise

Gusts may go higher.Got 'em right now, and my roof isn't handling it well. Happens every year; it's not news. High winds with hurricanes or non-hurricanes happen every year too, and it's not news just because it's on the East coast.
However, if you're the news media and you're trying to hide something else, to divert attention, a "good blow" might be in order.
Who is blowing whom, however, is in question.
