His educational resume was acquired via a program called
“AFFIRMATIVE ACTION.” You know, the one where it does not matter how intelligent you are or whether you have the capability to acquire a degree on your merits. It is a program where you are pushed through school by whatever and whomever it takes so as to have a degree because of the color of your skin.

My condolences.

“Maybe he’s slowly preparing us for what to expect for when he accepts Donald Trump’s $5 Million Charity Challenge.

Is donating to ones own campaign considered a charity?”

I always thought Trump and obama were in working together. Like when obama release the phony birth certificate, Trump never really challenged it. I believe that this is another guise set up between the two jerks release fake records (October surprise) to see if it can change his failing campaign.

“Surprising that he would admit this. I wonder if he’s laying the groundwork for releasing his college transcripts or something.”

To obama’s credit, he was just trying to be funny. I always thought his jokes were terrible. Mainly because many of the jokes were either about himself or President Bush. So when he jokes about himself, and I don’t know anything about him, its hard to know if it is funny or not. I always found the jokes about President Bush coming from most Democrats mean spirited.

About revealing his transcripts. Possibly. Him and Trump seem to be partners in reveal records in public spectacles. Just like when they worked together with the Fake Birth Certificate.

Sometime ago I read an article that stated “teachers” who graduate with “Education” degrees are in the lowest 25 percentile of SAT scores.

Based on the failure of Big Govt Education, that stat is certainly believable.

the way that math is taught now is non sensical. My school went with new math in the early 70’s... I was toast.
It’s my settled opinion that educationists intentionally mystify their subjects to prevent parents from being able to critique their teachers and maintain the respect of their children. I have an engineering degree which I earned back when every Tom, Dick and Harry didn’t go to college. But some of the nomenclature they use now . . .

I was chatting with an old friend recently, and I remembered that he had said he had never been able to understand math. Now as the subject comes up, maybe the fact that he was in school ten years later than I meant that he had “new math” and his problem wasn’t altogether his fault. In any event, I can recommend a solution to math phobia:

khanacademy.org
A free math education for anyone interested in learning it. I mentioned it to my friend, and hope he will enjoy it (since he’s retired, he certainly doesn’t need it).

I doubt that his handlers would allow him to ad lib in a venue like Leno. Nothing on these talk shows is spontaneous; it's all rehearsed and teleprompted.

I can see no purpose for it other than to make sure that parents can’t help the student!!!!
Nor can I. I am quite sure that that is the motivation behind it.
But there is now a free internet school that can help:
khanacademy.org
No reason why a kid should fail for the lack of adequate pedagogy now!

Having taught my kids and several other people in my family math, adult education classes in math a couple of times, and having taught physics to undergrads my experience with this at personal, remedial and professional level is that the fundamental problem with people who claim they can't do math is always an emotional problem: a fear of math and the avoidance behavior created by fear.

At some point in their lives, invariably someone -- quite often themselves -- has convinced them they "can't do math." And invariably someone -- again, quite often themselves -- has told them that this is OK; That they aren't "math people," that you "don't need math." Primary arithmetic and basic mathematics teachers are the principal enablers of this nonsense.

And as you point out, our society and culture encourage this. It's actually cool to be innumerate.

Mathematical and logical reasoning occurs at specific place in the brain, which has virtually no overlap we know of with other faculties. Except for some very well known and statistically insignificant cases of brain trauma or organic brain damage, everyone possesses this faculty. Like any other capability it's largely a matter of self-discipline, application, practice, and proper instruction. It's time to stop excusing innumeracy. The best place to start is by reassuring the innumerate -- gently but firmly -- that there is no such thing as a functioning person who "can't do math."

When I saw / heard Obama say this, my thought was that this would make for a great Romney commercial or stump speech line. Pause half way through the obvious comment about the two candidates’ economic plans and say “I think that out of respect for the President I should just stop here...”

I knew it was BS at the time... hence I kept the book for some bizarre reason!
Funny how the mind works! However I do understand the basics without calculus and an I.Q. in the clouds.
And I DID run lemonade stands as a child!
