I think you forgot a decimal place. IQ 18.6 maybe, on a good day.
I did it because I overcame my math obtusity and recognized the value of my analytical brain to overcome that. I can read graphs, charts, can add and subtract in my head, but I do not possess a theoretical/geometric component, doesn’t make me stupid.
Thanks for setting me straight!
I always knew Carter was an idiot. The idea that he was an engineer always made me feel cheap somehow ;-)
Being uneducated isn’t the same thing as being “stupid.” But I don’t know how you can do optimization — which is one of the most basic tools in economics — without differential Calculus.
Oh yeah, can you type a paragraph in the dark with only one typographical error? ‘Cause I can.
Calculus? He probably doesn’t even know algebra.
To be fair, though, Carter said "nucular" all the time. Probably more than GW Bush.
Maybe he was a "nucular" engineer. That way nobody could accuse him of lying.
Samuelson was a dweeb, too. Won the Nobel Prize, too.
Samuelson was a quack, earning royalties for filling American undergraduate heads with mush.
“IQ 186”
Left out the decimal point. It is 18.6.
I have an engineering degree from a world renowned university for math and sciences. It was in my senior year of high school that I really took to math. I learned that there are structural and objective mental disciplines needed to deal with the real world phenomena. My mother was an immigrant from Russia who only had 4th grade education but she could help me with my grade school arithmetic as we called it then. To have a POTUSA acknowledging grade school math is beyond his learning, even as taught today, is a disgrace to our, if it was our’s, educational system as well as the individual
I'll wager closer to 86. Don't like high school maths.
More like 86 or 18. Certifiable morons can be taught to read from a sheet of paper or teleprompter convincingly. My seconary MOS in the Army was broadcast (TV & Radio) journalist, it isn’t rocket science.
Well, if this doesn’t prove he didn’t get into Columbia College or Harvard based upon his intelligence or his grades. He likely did not attend Columbia College and the College administration have been “convinced” to go along with the false claim. He would have had to take at SAT exam to get in and that includes math beyond the 7th grade. We know that Mr. Mansour of Texas asked Percy Sutton to make a phone call to Harvard to get the “fair-haired” Obama into Harard; he didn’t pass an LSAT.
I suspect he did poorly in 7th grade math (preparation for algebra).
I would argue his arithmetic isn’t so hot either.

To quote Barbie, “Math is hard!”
Cut back on the weed, dude!
I find it very strange that people love to brag how badly they do with math. They make it seem like a badge of honor.
drop the 100
There’s no such thing as someone who can’t do math. There are just bad teachers and bad methodologies.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
And...Those who brag about not being a “math person”.
Honestly, I am amazed when people will openly state that they are “not good at math”. Would they be so bold to proclaim to the world that they couldn’t read?
