What would you think if you were told that the most bigoted, intolerant, hateful, and xenophobic political messages this election cycle are being spread by Obama supporters?
From ridiculing and disrespecting the Mormon religion to spreading secretly taped videos recorded by an Obama supporter in a Mormon church, those on the left are sanctioning this particular form of bigotry because its all for the cause: Obama.
Nowhere is this more obvious than in the media, where pages upon pages have been devoted to Romneys religion. Vicious, anti-Mormon rhetoric, ramping up in the final days leading up to the election, has been spread by MSNBC and CNN hosts, the New York Times (they have devoted an entire section of their website to articles about Mormonism), Washington Post, and the Daily Beasts Andrew Sullivan, to name a few. Yesterday, Breitbarts John Nolte revealed that Gloria Allreds October surprise client is spreading anti-Mormon hate around the Internet.
In one recent segment, which I took notes on right after the Tampa convention, Rachel Maddow, having attacked the religion in various ways and perhaps sensing her own intolerance, offhandedly remarked that everything she had said was ok because Romney mentioned his faith in his convention speech, rendering it fair game.
A quick perusal of the search results for Mormon on Salon.com, which resulted in 5 pages of results, reveals such headlines as Is Mormon underwear magic, What we should ask Romney about Mormonism, and Ann: Mormon missions are just like military service!

From all available evidence; she DOESN'T think; but merely babbles on about things that have NO relationship to the rest of the thread.
“Oh, this is so priceless. I got banned for almost a year (for being a Mormon) and what has changed? Not much. Anti MormonISM folk are still condemning to hell everyone who dont/doesnt believe exactly as they believe. Good thing Jesus Christ is our Judge. Jesus is so wonderful; He suffered and died for me, too - a Mormon.”
You continue to make these assertions contradicting your own prophets and apostles, and then cry ‘hate!’ and ‘bigotry!’ to justify them. Perhaps you were banned for your dishonesty in pushing your religion. I don’t know who you think you are fooling, but I suspect no one here is getting snookered after reading the “eeeevil” posts of those you deride as mere haters. After all, they’re only quoting YOUR leaders.
THE BOOK OF JACOB
THE BROTHER OF NEPHICHAPTER 224 Behold, David and Solomon truly had many wives and concubines, which thing was abominable before me, saith the Lord.
25 Wherefore, thus saith the Lord, I have led this people forth out of the land of Jerusalem, by the power of mine arm, that I might raise up unto me a righteous branch from the fruit of the loins of Joseph.
26 Wherefore, I the Lord God will not suffer that this people shall do like unto them of old.
27 Wherefore, my brethren, hear me, and hearken to the word of the Lord: For there shall not any man among you have save it be one wife; and concubines he shall have none;
28 For I, the Lord God, delight in the chastity of women. And whoredoms are an abomination before me; thus saith the Lord of Hosts.
29 Wherefore, this people shall keep my commandments, saith the Lord of Hosts, or cursed be the land for their sakes.
30 For if I will, saith the Lord of Hosts, raise up seed unto me, I will command my people; otherwise they shall hearken unto these things.
31 For behold, I, the Lord, have seen the sorrow, and heard the mourning of the daughters of my people in the land of Jerusalem, yea, and in all the lands of my people, because of the wickedness and abominations of their husbands.
32 And I will not suffer, saith the Lord of Hosts, that the cries of the fair daughters of this people, which I have led out of the land of Jerusalem, shall come up unto me against the men of my people, saith the Lord of Hosts.

A deacon must be the husband of but one wife and must manage his children and his household well.Titus 1:6

THE
DOCTRINE AND COVENANTS
OF THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTSSECTION 1325157, Emma Smith is counseled (commanded) to be faithful and true; 5866, Laws governing the plurality of wives are set forth.51 Verily, I say unto you: A commandment I give unto mine handmaid, Emma Smith, your wife, whom I have given unto you, that she stay herself and partake not of that which I commanded you to offer unto her; for I did it, saith the Lord, to aprove you all, as I did Abraham, and that I might require an offering at your hand, by covenant and sacrifice.52 And let mine handmaid, Emma Smith, areceive all those that have been given unto my servant Joseph, and who are virtuous and pure before me; and those who are not pure, and have said they were pure, shall be destroyed, saith the Lord God.53 For I am the Lord thy God, and ye shall obey my voice; and I give unto my servant Joseph that he shall be made ruler over many things; for he hath been afaithful over a few things, and from henceforth I will strengthen him.55 But if she will not abide this commandment, then shall my servant Joseph do all things for her, even as he hath said; and I will bless him and multiply him and give unto him an ahundredfold in this world, of fathers and mothers, brothers and sisters, houses and lands, wives and children, and crowns of beternal lives in the eternal worlds.
After all, theyre only quoting YOUR leaders
Joe: Hey Emma! Guess what!?
Emma: You KNOW I hate these guessing games! What is it, Dear?
Joe: I heard a voice, probably the Lord, tell me I must take other wives.
Emma: WHAT!? You ding bat! Don’t you KNOW what our precious BOOK says? After all; YOU are the one that translated it!
Joe: Books; schmooks. All I know is I’ve been COMMANDED to take other wives and you are to OBEY ME!!!
Emma: “Though shalt NOT commit ADULTERY!!!”
Joe: Silly Woman! You KNOW better than to take things out of CONTEXT!!!
HUM ?
I could dig up/make up a pile of dirt about the Catholic Church and every Protestant Church known to man or beast but why would I want to? I do not want to! So why do you continue to push the notion that what the anti Mormons on this site are doing is A-OK?
Are you discrediting Billy Graham because his ministry removed Mormons from its list of cults?
Are ignoring #217 and #218 on PURPOSE?
“I could dig up/make up a pile of dirt about the Catholic Church and every Protestant Church known to man or beast but why would I want to?”
You probably wouldn’t want to since, generally, Protestant and Catholic leaders don’t claim to be Apostles or Prophets who speak directly for God and are often, provably, wrong. There are some Charismatics though who claim to be prophets, like Benny Hinn, but the second problem is that since I am not a Mormon I don’t really respect any leader when they contradict the Bible.
“So why do you continue to push the notion that what the anti Mormons on this site are doing is A-OK?”
Because you continue to claim that Mormonism is Christian and many other things that it is provably not, and our evidence is in the LDS teachings itself and the firm words of the Bible, not mere opinion or rambling. We are not relativists who embrace lies just to feel good and get along, and so far you have not addressed a single thing anyone has written. Can you please reply to my post on Joseph Smith’s false prophecy of the Mormons building New Jerusalem “in this generation,” which not only did not happen but contradicts the plain words of the Bible? If you won’t respond to it, then why respond to anything at all? Why make these claims when you have no evidence to provide? Why dispute what your own prophets and leaders have declared themselves? Do you “sustain” you Apostle when he said that it is wrong to consider Jesus a personal savior to be prayed to? I sustain the Apostle Paul. I sustain Jesus Christ. You can sustain the LDS, but I shall stick to the good word of the Bible.
Why indeed.
Your CHOSEN religion has alREADY done this; so I doubt that you could do any better.
#130 - which you ignored.
So; in your mind its NOT ok to publish true facts about MORMONism???
What have you folks got to hide??
I have nothing to hide. I love Jesus and He loves me. Deal with it. All of your side bars cannot separate me from my Savior.
You are incorrect. According to the Catholic faith, the Pope speaks and acts infallibly. I don’t have a problem with Catholics. In fact, if I weren’t a Mormon, I would have to be a Catholic due to the Priesthood.
While we believe that the President of the LDS Church would not lead us astray, nevertheless, we believe he is just a man and we love and honor him.
P.S. There is no paid clergy in the LDS Church.
The purpose of this thread was supposed to be a discussion about how the left has jumped in bed with the anti Mormons and vice versa. Did you miss that point somehow?
“You are incorrect. According to the Catholic faith, the Pope speaks and acts infallibly. I dont have a problem with Catholics. In fact, if I werent a Mormon, I would have to be a Catholic due to the Priesthood.”
The Pope, so far as I know, does not lie about Catholic doctrine the way that the Mormon Living Prophet lies about Mormonism depending on the audience. For example, on whether or not God was once a man:
“Don Lattin (San Francisco Chronicle religion editor, interviewing Gordon B. Hinckley, April 13, 1997, p 3/Z1): “There are some significant differences in your beliefs [from other Christian churches]. For instance, don’t Mormons believe that God was once a man?”
Hinckley: “I wouldn’t say that. There was a little couplet coined, “As man is, God once was. As God is, man may become.” Now that’s more of a couplet than anything else. That gets into some pretty deep theology that we don’t know very much about.”
Quoted in Time Magazine, Aug 4, 1997: “On whether his church still holds that God the Father was once a man, [Hinckley] sounded uncertain, `I don’t know that we teach it. I don’t know that we emphasize it... I understand the philosophical background behind it, but I don’t know a lot about it, and I don’t think others know a lot about it.’”
However, Joseph Smith called the doctrine of God once being a man the first principle of the Mormon gospel:
“God himself was once as we are now, and is an exalted man, and sits enthroned in yonder heavens!...........It is the first principle of the gospel to know for a certainty the character of God........yea, that God himself, the father of us all, dwelt on an earth, the same as Jesus Christ himself did; and I will show it from the Bible....” (from Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith and History of the Church, 6:302-17. This has also been reprinted in various manuals and church magazines over the years. Truman Madsen, in his popular tapes “Joseph Smith the Prophet” said the church has published this sermon more than any other.)
President Kimball said it is in numerous scriptures:
“You and I—what helpless creatures are we! Such limited power we have, and how little can we control the wind and the waves and the storms! We remember the numerous scriptures which, concentrated in a single line, were stated by a former prophet, Lorenzo Snow: ‘As man is, God once was; and as God is, man may become.’” (President Spencer W. Kimball in “Our Great Potential” from the April 1977 Priesthood Session of General Conference)
In 1997, the official Priesthood and Relief Society manual contained the following;:
“President Brigham Young taught ... that God the Father was once a man on another planet who ‘passed the ordeals we are now passing through’” ... “The doctrine that God was once a man and has progressed to become a God is unique to this church.” (”The Teachings of Brigham Young,” 1997, pages 29,34, )
Your Prophet would later lie to Mormons claiming he was “misquoted.”
A compilation of lies told by your prophet can be found here:

Also, the Pope, so far as I know, has never given false prophecy, insomuch he does not claim to be a mouthpiece of God. Though, of course, I do disagree with Catholic theology where they contradict the Bible. At least they don’t claim the Bible is wrong, condemn all of the Apostles, distort Jesus Christ, and claim that there are many gods when scripture only teaches one! Comparing Catholicism to Mormonism is like comparing Catholicism to Scientology.
As for the Priesthood, that just demonstrates how little you know the scripture and how much you prefer ritual over spiritual! If I were a Mormon, I’d convert to Christianity since we are all made Kings and Priests in the sight of God through faith in Him. No need to learn any secret handshakes, secret names, tithe 10 percent, swear obedience to men, obey the law perfectly, “sustain” fallible men who are liars, or govern my life based on the burning of my bosom without the benefit of evidence! I need never fear failing my temple recommendation, or what other men think, since there are no special classes in the body of Christ, no levels of priesthood, only Christ our High Priest and the entire body of Christians being one with Him.
Sandy; you say, "Lord, Lord" quite well.
I hope it'll be enough.
Your CHOSEN religion says it won't be:
"He (Joseph Smith) is the man through whom God has spoken... yet I would not like to call him a savior, though in a certain capacity he was a god to us, and is to the nations of the earth, and will continue to be."- Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses 8:321"You call us fools; but the day will be, gentlemen and ladies, whether you belong to this Church or not, when you will prize brother Joseph Smith as the Prophet of the Living God, and look upon him as a god..."- Herber C. Kimball, Journal of Discourses 5:88"If we get our salvation, we shall have to pass by him [Joseph Smith]; if we enter our glory, it will be through the authority he has received. We cannot get around him [Joseph Smith]"- (as quoted in 1988 Melchizedek Priesthood Study Guide, p. 142)There is "no salvation without accepting Joseph Smith. If Joseph Smith was verily a prophet, and if he told the truth...no man can reject that testimony without incurring the most dreadful consequences, for he cannot enter the kingdom of God"- Joseph Fielding Smith, Doctrines of Salvation, vol. 1, p.190"I tell you, Joseph holds the keys, and none of us can get into the celestial kingdom without passing by him. We have not got rid of him, but he stands there as the sentinel, holding the keys of the kingdom of God; and there are many of them beside him. I tell you, if we get past those who have mingled with us, and know us best, and have a right to know us best, probably we can pass all other sentinels as far as it is necessary, or as far as we may desire. But I tell you, the pinch will be with those that have mingled with us, stood next to us, weighed our spirits, tried us, and proven us: there will be a pinch, in my view, to get past them. The others, perhaps, will say, If brother Joseph is satisfied with you, you may pass. If it is all right with him, it is all right with me. Then if Joseph shall say to a man, or if brother Brigham say to a man, I forgive you your sins, "Whosoever sins ye remit they are remitted unto them;" if you who have suffered and felt the weight of transgressionif you have generosity enough to forgive the sinner, I will forgive him: you cannot have more generosity than I have. I have given you power to forgive sins, and when the Lord gives a gift, he does not take it back again."- Orson Hyde, Journal of Discourses, Vol. 6, p.154-155"It is because the Lord called Joseph Smith that salvation is again available to mortal men.... If it had not been for Joseph Smith and the restoration, there would be no salvation,"- Bruce McConkie, Mormon Doctrine, p. 396, 670
They succeeded in killing Joseph, but he had finished his work.He was a servant of God, and gave us the Book of Mormon. He said the Bible was right in the main, but, through the translators and others, many precious portions were suppressed, and several other portions were wrongly translated; and now his testimony is in force, for he has sealed it with his blood. As I have frequently told them, no man in this dispensation will enter the courts of heaven, without the approbation of the Prophet Joseph Smith, Jun.Who has made this so?Have I?Have this people?Have the world? No; but the Lord Jehovah has decreed it.If I ever pass into the heavenly courts, it will be by the consent of the Prophet Joseph. If you ever pass through the gates into the Holy City, you will do so upon his certificate that you are worthy to pass. Can you pass without his inspection? No; neither can any person in this dispensation, which is the dispensation of the fulness of times. In this generation, and in all the generations that are to come, everyone will have to undergo the scrutiny of this Prophet. They say that they killed Joseph, and they will yet come with their hats under their arms and bend to him; but what good will it do them, unless they repent? They can come in a certain way and find favor, but will they?Brigham Young,--JOURNAL OF DISCOURSES, vol. 8, p. 224
Have you, Sandy, done ENOUGH that MORMONism requires to get past Joseph Smith?
Have you, Sandy, listened to the voice of the #2 Prophet when he said you'd be DAMNED if you did NOT buy into polygamy?
Sandy; as much as you WANT to deny these facts about your chosen religion - it appears that YOU are going to be in BIG trouble - my 'sidebars' not withstanding.
Then you DO have a 'problem' with your CHOSEN religion; MORMONism.
TRQ #7
Do you support, affiliate with, or agree with any group or individual whose teachings or practices are contrary to or oppose those accepted by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?
The RCC says MORMONism is a CULT.
I'll bet it is STILL on IT's website!
Nephi seemed to have one!
THE FIRST BOOK OF NEPHI
HIS REIGN AND MINISTRY CHAPTER 13 Nephi sees in vision: the church of the devil set up among the Gentiles; the discovery and colonizing of America; the loss of many plain and precious parts of the Bible; the resultant state of gentile apostasy; the restoration of the gospel, the coming forth of latter-day scripture, and the building up of Zion. Between 600 and 592 B.C. 1 And it came to pass that the angel spake unto me, saying: Look! And I looked and beheld many nations and kingdoms.
2 And the angel said unto me: What beholdest thou? And I said: I behold many nations and kingdoms. 3 And he said unto me: These are the nations and kingdoms of the Gentiles. 4 And it came to pass that I saw among the nations of the Gentiles the formation of a great church. 5 And the angel said unto me: Behold the formation of a church which is most abominable above all other churches, which slayeth the saints of God, yea, and tortureth them and bindeth them down, and yoketh them with a yoke of iron, and bringeth them down into captivity. 6 And it came to pass that I beheld this great and abominable church; and I saw the devil that he was the founder of it. 7 And I also saw gold, and silver, and silks, and scarlets, and fine-twined linen, and all manner of precious clothing; and I saw many harlots. 8 And the angel spake unto me, saying: Behold the gold, and the silver, and the silks, and the scarlets, and the fine-twined linen, and the precious clothing, and the harlots, are the desires of this great and abominable church. 9 And also for the praise of the world do they destroy the saints of God, and bring them down into captivity. |
According to the LDS faith, the Living Prophet® speaks and acts infallibly sometimes.
Just exactly WHEN this occurs canNOT be pinpointed accurately.
Oh?
This is interesting!
Could you elaborate?
