In a statement, the committee said it first will hold a closed oversight hearing on November 15 on the Benghazi attacks, when lawmakers return after the November 6 presidential and congressional elections. The Democratic-controlled panel said additional hearings would follow.
Some Senate Republicans have said the committee should hold public hearings on the response to the attacks, in which U.S. Ambassador to Libya Christopher Stevens and three other American officials were killed.
The committee, chaired by Senator Dianne Feinstein, said it had received briefings and documents related to the attacks
It said aspects under investigation include how U.S. intelligence and threat information relating to Libya and other Middle East countries was handled before September 11, when and how such information was disseminated, and how government agencies responded to the information.

I think it’s better this way. The only safe harbor Obummer would have will be to spin the few positive points he would get from the hearings. All he has now is the normal MSM cover he’s always had. The new media is more powerful than they were when he was elected. He doesn’t look to great now.

Considering the progress we’ve made in Fast and Furious, the White crib would simply ignore any hearings for two weeks making it kind of pointless to try to rush ahead.
For that matter the democrats would simply refuse to take part for two weeks. Plus they aren’t even in session right now.
The house can still hold more hearings and should be compelling the president to testify under oath at this point. This cannot and should not be allowed to stand IMHO. If Obama wins or steals this election, we have to gather in the millions to demand his impeachment!
Enough is enough. This isn’t about politics. It is about the rule of law. It is about whether our President will be required to follow the law and our constitution or be allowed to set a dangerous precedent of gross abuse of power and high crimes and misdemeanors.
The more we find about this whole thing, the angrier I am becoming. He is being allowed to lie and refuse to disclose anything to the American people.
I wrote to all of my congress critters today and encourage my fellow FReepers to do the same.
It is very likely that Obama has been giving arms, aid and comfort to the enemies of this country and then lying about it! If those are not impeachable offenses...I don’t know what is anymore!!

Obama has seen the silence of the Republicans in the House since Jan 20, 2009 so he has no fear of them.

0bama was notified immediately and automatically when the Benghazi consulate triggered the "Critical Incident Report" alert. He did nothing.

For weeks now I have thought that the denial of requests for security were a dereliction of duty. I consider the lies and misdirection about the "video" after the attack to be fraud and malfeasance under the color of authority. I don't consider the inaction during the attack to be any of those.
The failure to act during the attack is the direct equivalent of desertion IMO.
ONE man had the authority to act that night.
ONE man deserted his post!
