In Northern suburbs of Chicago:
2008: Obama intensity overflowing in every direction.
2012: Have NEVER heard enthusiasm expressed for Obama. What I have heard is low-key excuses for Obama or low-key sniping at Romney.
Ventura Co., CA (north of L.A.) very few bumper stickers for either candidate this year. I did see a Romney/Ryan sticker yesterday and one Obama sticker today. But compared to 2008, when there was an Obama sticker on every 6th car, there’s a dearth of bumper stickers in this area this year.
>>> Tried to ask a few lib friends why, one blame Bush.
LOL. That is truly funny.
Now Boooooosh is also responsible for O’s unpopularity.
You can’t make this up.
I live in Ground Zero!!! Near North Side of Chicago and I ride the subways a lot. 4 years ago every third person had a obama button or sticker on their jackets or backpacks. This year I’ve seen one just one ....on a disheveled obese woman...LOL
I've noticed the same thing. In 2008, you had to be careful when talking about Obama so you didn't set off one of their zombies. I had one sweet, but misguided woman tell me I was a "lost sheep". This year, you can say just about anything you want, and they leave you alone.
Northfield Center. Wouldn’t surprise me if Hudson is plastered with obama signs though!
ZERO, ZIP, NADA Obama signs in my neighborhood. Four years ago there were some - today - none. (Florida)
From what I see in Fairfield County, CT, the presidential signage is way down compared to 4 years ago. There are plenty of signs for local races - probably 50-50. Folks talk about how bad the economy is, and around here that is code-speak for leaning away from the incumbent. Lots of stores have been closed and a bunch of homes are on the market.Very few bumper stickers for either candidate - there was a lot of vandalism last time.
CT has a Senate seat up for grabs and much of the interest centers on that. Around here, Linda McMahon seems to have the edge but I’d bet in the cities, its a different story. Both candidates have commercials on tv constantly so there is a lot of money being spent.
I would say that the “racial healing” crowd from last election have had enough and will be voting Romney. The young folks are disgusted because they can’t get work. They may just stay home. We’ll see on the 6th - Obama may win but it won’t be by the margin it was in 08. McMahon may take it.
I live in the Sacramento suburbs and drive all over the area for my job.
I see it about 50/50 on yard signs this year, up from 90/10 in 2008.
However, in conversation, things are quite different. I was at a housewarming party for my sons friend last weekend. At the party I steered the conversation to politics, gently, and then sat back and listened.
It was stunning. Out of the 15 people gathered around, not a single one was voting for The Won. Not a single one.
Many of them were young, early to mid 20’s and the rest were their parents. The same thing was said over and over. That O had messed up the economy, was a poor president and they wanted Romney. He was no second choice to these low information voters, they WANTED him.
This means little however. Here in Calif, the coast rules the vote, no matter what the other 80% of the state has to say.

Reporting from the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia;
In six months I’ve seen two Obama/Biden bumpersticker, while passing through the Democratic Republic of Maryland, none, zero, in my area!
The only Obama/Biden yard sign is two doors down! The Dems gave a convicted Texas Felon 40% of their primary vote and I don’t believe that the Party Machine has been forgiven for its support of Obama over Hillary in the ‘08 primary.
Along one of the main routes through suburbia, one of the homeowners had strung a long rope of lights along the fenceline and overlooking the main thoroufare:"Obama 08", but I do not see that up this year. Of course, that homeowner could have lost his/her home to foreclosure in the past 4 years--a lot of that has gone on in my section of San Diego County.
Our neighbors have always voted dem. Not this year. They have had enough of Obama and are voting Romney...and they also joined the NRA. Husband works for GM on Volt project. Go figure!
Of course this is anecdotal, but driving done Bayshore Blvd in Tampa, you see nothing but Romney/Ryan signs. Here's the kicker. Bayshore Blvd. is mostly rich democRATs, all of whom voted for 0bama in '08.

We took about a 600 mile round trip from near Dallas TX to east of McAllister Oklahoma last weekend. About the only time I saw any Zero signs was going through Dallas. There are a few signs for local races but a mere fraction of the RR or OB sings that I would expect.
Bumper stickers are few and far between.
I first started paying attention to elections in ‘76 and have never seen an election like this before.
It seems like everyone has made up their mind and is not about to even hint about or discuss the matter.
Up in the soon to be very snowy mountains of the Great American Redoubt here. Usually about an 85% Conservative, 10% Liberal, 5% undecided voting split, but I have not heard much talk this year, either around up here, or when down in town, regarding this Presidential election. Bumper stickers or yard signs are almost nil this election also. I have no idea why. hussein/holder’s people are nonexistent here so I know that helps keeps zero’s support down but not much outward pulling for Romney either.
I have driven from Alabama to Virginia and back TWICE in the last 3 weeks and saw ONLY ONE Obumbo sticker on a vehicle!!!
So far, in our town of about 27,000, I have seen ONLY THREE Obumbo yard signs.
i have posted much of this the past three months but its always fun to get updates...i live in New Castle, NY; one mile from RFL Jr, or the house he just sold where his former wife hung herself, and two miles from the clinton’s chappaqua home....look up elitist liberalsville and that’s where i live....
1) four years ago at this time 8 out of every ten cars in my area had obama bumper stickers attached to them....one out of every four people in my gym (same gym where RFK Jr, Billy baldwin and a bunch of uber liberals work out) was wearing an obama t-shirt...today its maybe one out of every 75 cars that has an obama bumper sticker...in fact the past two days i’ve seen more Mitt Romney stickers on cars in my area than obama stickers- unheard of...the number of anti-obama stickers on cars in this area easily out numbers the pro-obama stickers 4-to-1...
2) we still have a large jewish population that’s pro-obama in my area yet i never thought i’d witness large numbers of Jews loudly and openly proclaiming their disgust for obama and their hopes Romney wins...i’ve seen them go toe-to-toe in my area and in my gym with pro-obama jews thelling them how naive they are....
3) i have a big white t-shirt with broad letters written across it which read “OBAMA MUST GO!!”...i wear it running to piss people off and get my message out...i am constantly getting people smiling, giving me the thumbs up and asking where they can buy the shirt- but two saturdays ago was an eye opener...towards the end of my run on a busy street a car rolls down its window and a woman sticks her head out...i figure i’m in trouble until she yells- in a thick, thick, hispanic accent, “I love your shirt!!! we’ve got to get rid of that son of a bitch!!!”
4) there’s a tall black conservative guy who works out in my gym who i’m very friendly with...he went to Columbia....he hates obama...i bought him an “Obama Must Go” shirt....a week after i gave it to him he told me his 15YO son saw the shirt, loved it and wanted to wear it to high school the next day (”i’ve been working on him politically” my friend told me)...he said his wife argued the son should not where the shirt to school but he (the father) stood his ground and said “he’s going to have to learn to deal with conflict sooner or later”...the son wore the shirt to school, received both good and bad remarks, and was invited to join the schools Young Republican Club...the father asked me “where can i get more of those t-shirts? 15 of my sons friends were over and they all loved the shirt and want one!!!”
5) i’m seeing more and more and more people who would be classified as “young voters” tell me how much they love my anti-obama shirts of give me the thumbs up due to my anti-obama stickers...
i should add, four years ago i put a sarcastic sticker on my car which read “BRING SOCIALISM TO AMERICA: VOTE OBAMA!!” many thought i was a serious obama supporter but now realize i was telling obama supporters what fools they were/are...
Shorewood, WI(extremely lefty N MKE suburb)
Still have recall Walker signs in some Westie yards. I have seen a couple RR signs as well.
