exactly
G-d IS NOT micro-managing our lives
everything that happens to us is not a result of G-d micromanaging our lives (G-d’s relationship with Adam identified this)
G-d is never micromanaging the life of a rapist - they ignore G-d, or a rapist’s victim at the moment of the rape
to say that a child conceived by rape is a “gift of G-d” is to say that the rape was a gift of G-d
that is NOT Christian, religious, moral or anything but assinine
on the other end, after the rape, yes, every human life is precious, and once conceived, AFTER the child is conceived, that life is precious, to G-d and it ought to be to us
yet, to say it is a “gift” of G-d is in my view immoral
if that statement were not immoral then there really would be nothing wrong with rape as a legitimate form of human conception, when in fact to most Christians it is not even moral or ethical for a husband to rape his wife - so how can the rape and any result of it be “gift of G-d” - it can’t, anymore than can the trauma at the time, for the victim, and the trauma that can continue for years for the victim be called a “gift of G-d”
what evil does is never a “gift of G-d”
no Christian is correct when they excuse evil acts that humans do as “an act of G-d” (just as stupidly as when Pat Robertson faulted some of our “sinful” Americans for the attacks on 9/11).
when an evil act occurs, G-d has been and is being ignored by those committing the act - they have abandoned G-d and G-d has abondoned them (for the moment, they may repent later), therefore what they do is not a “gift” from G-d
afterward, we do seek gifts from G-d, to help us through what we must do to go one with our lives; we seek the gifts of G-d’s peace, G-d’s strength, G-d’s forgiveness for our enemies, G-d’s wisdom and G-d’s grace
but the rape - its is not a “gift” period
Only G-d can create life. If G-d didn’t create that life as a gift, then why DID He create it?
In the middle of the destruction of 9-11 the rubble formed a cross. Many viewed that as the Lord giving a sign of comfort in the middle of the sorrow and destruction. If somebody said that the appearance of that cross at that place and time was a gift from the Lord, would they be saying that the terrorist attack was G-d’s gift also? Or can the Lord allow something bad - that He hates - to happen but put a blessing right in the middle of it anyway?
