Left-wing groups have gone to international organizations in the run up to this election, seeking to apply global governance to the United States. The results of this is that the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE, not the UN as is often reported) has announced it will send election observers, with the implication that Voter ID laws are a problem.
Now, the reason theyre only investigating Republican-run areas is that Republicans would never run to the OSCE or anyone else to interfere with American elections. But that said, we must not let the OSCE observers think they are above the law. The OSCE is a voluntary organization and it has no binding authority over anyone, which is why Texas Attorney General Grag Abbott has warned the OSCE that Texas laws will apply, including bars on unlawful entry of polling places.
Abbott wasnt shy as he closed his letter:
Elections and election observation are regulated by state law. The Texas Election Code governs anyone who participates in Texas electionsincluding representatives of the OSCE. The OSCEs representatives are not authorized by Texas law to enter a polling place. It may be a criminal offense for OSCEs representatives to maintain a presence within 100 feet of a polling places entrance. Failure to comply with these requirements could subject the OSCEs representatives to criminal prosecution for violating state law.
It seems clear to me that if youre threatening to prosecute foreign observers, then youd have to arrest them to do so, because otherwise theyd just flee the country. Arresting OSCE observers would be a strong act to preserve the rule of law, which of course means hes going to get strong opposition from the left on this.
But Im sure glad America has Texas to take the lead on liberty and federal government, time and again. If not Texas, who?
They are sending Russian election officials to observe our elections, the same observers that allowed Putin to win a sham election in Russia.
God bless Texas.
Good strategy. Americans will rightly reject foreigners interfering with our election. Except those voting for one...
There, fixed it.
One of just 43,245,198 reasons I live here.
Go ahead, MR. AG, arrest the bastards. Send them a message, along with the NAACP La Raza and other racist organizations.
Thank you Texas.
I have always been a big fan.
No state does more to stand up for themselves and for America than Texas does. These people think they’re going to mess with Texas? Not a chance!
I live in a county where Obama might get 10% of the vote. I welcome the Russian observers to our town. The police here enjoy visitors...ENJOY your stay. Hehe. Bring a tooth brush!
He will be a great Governor of Texas.
Sounds like they’re mostly observing in states where the race is either expected to be close or states that are overrun with illegals and Texas ain’t close.
Probably best that the observers observe from a distance. Won’t be some leftist Austin, Houston or Dallas policeman, it will be big burly Texas Rangers who won’t really care if the Euro Socialist understand English or Texas law. I would suspect that if the Food Stamp President sends in Feds to assist them, they will be arrested also.
What now, b*tches?!
Have you ever seen a Texas Ranger with his War Face on? It is a sight to behold. Think Chuck Norris to the power of 10. It would really be entertaining to watch the extremely short confrontation between these international meddlers and one of our Rangers.
I am proud to be a fifth generation Texan with three Rangers in my ancestry.
I read the other day they will be in Missouri, ND, SD and one other state that escapes me at the moment that do not have laws which specifically prohibit them from observing.
I’m contacting our Sec of State just to be sure they are not letting them in GA although I can’t imagine it. They would be lucky to get away with their skins intact.
...No state does more to stand up for themselves and for America than Texas does. These people think theyre going to mess with Texas? Not a chance!
Yep, if they mess with us, we’ll secede, of coarse if the other states OK it.
“Think Chuck Norris to the power of 10.”
I can’t look much meaner than Dirty Harry. But everything’s bigger in Texas;)
Yes, he Will be a great Governor of TX.
