Texas Attorney General warns OSCE on Election Observations
Redstate ^ | 10/23/12 | Neil Stevens

Left-wing groups have gone to international organizations in the run up to this election, seeking to apply global governance to the United States. The results of this is that the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE, not the UN as is often reported) has announced it will send election observers, with the implication that Voter ID laws are a problem.

Now, the reason they’re only investigating Republican-run areas is that Republicans would never run to the OSCE or anyone else to interfere with American elections. But that said, we must not let the OSCE observers think they are above the law. The OSCE is a voluntary organization and it has no binding authority over anyone, which is why Texas Attorney General Grag Abbott has warned the OSCE that Texas laws will apply, including bars on unlawful entry of polling places.

Abbott wasn’t shy as he closed his letter:

Elections and election observation are regulated by state law. The Texas Election Code governs anyone who participates in Texas elections—including representatives of the OSCE. The OSCE’s representatives are not authorized by Texas law to enter a polling place. It may be a criminal offense for OSCE’s representatives to maintain a presence within 100 feet of a polling place’s entrance. Failure to comply with these requirements could subject the OSCE’s representatives to criminal prosecution for violating state law.

It seems clear to me that if you’re threatening to prosecute foreign observers, then you’d have to arrest them to do so, because otherwise they’d just flee the country. Arresting OSCE observers would be a strong act to preserve the rule of law, which of course means he’s going to get strong opposition from the left on this.

But I’m sure glad America has Texas to take the lead on liberty and federal government, time and again. If not Texas, who?

We won’t, but if we did clearly 1/2 of the nation would follow us out.

Let me offer you a bit of inside knowledge here:

Fringe left -> ADL -> OSCE -> Obama’s DHS.

Never forget- Texas was an independant Republic before it was a US state. My Texas vote is already on the books, yesterday.

Am proud of our ATTY General Greg Abbott who is a honeybadger when it comes to fighting for our values.
He will be a great Governor of Texas.

Amen! May God continue to bless Texas!

Have you ever seen a Texas Ranger with his War Face on?

Yes, I have, up close and personal. Years ago a crowd of 'oil patch trash' that I worked with and myself were having a 'little' drink down in the Trinity River bottom when a single Texas Ranger slipped right in amongst us. The were about 20 of us and he had us all cowed from the git go. He was looking for someone and thank the Lord none of us were him. That white hat and steely eyes not to mention that badge on his white shirt were quite impressive.

Democrat pols running for office are perfectly capable of sending their own Poll Watchers to observe and protest any “disenfranchisement”. They NEVER DO. That’s because they are perfectly aware of what goes on in polling places in minority neighborhoods.

The most common, illegal act reported by Poll Watchers in Texas is the practice of Democrat Clerks and, yes, Election Judges standing behind voters so they can see how they are voting and INTIMIDATING THEM INTO NOT VOTING FOR REPUBLICANS! Yes, there is intimidation, and it is democrats doing it.

However, the local Republican Party Party and the very effective True the Vote (www.truethevote.org) have been having an effect. The democrats are, reluctantly, behaving themselves because they know that every infraction will be reported to the District Attorney.

The voters and democrat election staff are getting used to the fact that there WILL be Poll Watchers in precincts where a white face is rarely seen.

Vote fraud continues, but they are having trouble employing some of their old techniques.
