Ole Miss Crowns First Black Homecoming Queen: Courtney Roxanne Pearson

Just 50 years after ending its notorious segregation policy, Ole Miss finally has a black homecoming queen. The school just crowned Courtney Roxanne Pearson as their queen, with the student receiving the crowning during the halftime ceremonies of the Ole Miss-Auburn football game.
I am still in shock, but I am definitely very excited, said Pearson.

I want to believe this was done with the highest and purest of motives; so why do I have the nagging suspicion that it actually was either a lark by a bunch of lackadaisical students....or worse yet, the same kind of insane do-gooder crap that resulted in the post turtle occupying the White Hut right now. It could even be something else, but lacking a photo of the runner-up......
