It might be strange bedfellows, but those bedfellows are anti-business and Marxists, for the most part. It might indicate to you to take a harder look on whether you understand the science or the issue.

It pretty obvious that these folks do not have any university-level training in biology. The get all of their information from Mercola, MovOn and the Greenpeace websites.

That which is GM is not real food. It does shorten your life span, so decide what is important, life, or cheap, tasteless vegies.

I’ve shared with you that you should spend some time educating yourself on the issue. It is a simple matter of a google search looking up monsanto seeds impact on small independent farmers.

It is truly a “progressive” idea to return to a world without the means to control pestilence and disease. I guess they think that is “fair and equal”. Amazing to me how they are so willing to bury the achievements of modern man. I was born in the early 1950’s and remember people scoffing at the idea the govt could control the water... they do now... the air... they do now (in Calif.)... and now they seek to control the sustenance, the food you eat.... when they control that, you are no longer free.

Actually, I think you've underestimated the gravity of the situation. I think this is about eventually exterminating vast numbers of people, simply because they are human.

There is a claque of very powerful people who truly believe the world cannot sustain its population (at least, the way they want to run it). Curiously, these folks are the direct beneficiaries of the world's most famed despoilers.

My biggest concern about their machinations is that they may well kill the few people left who actually know how to manage the land. If they die, the land dies with them. These idiots, blinded by their Nature worship, just can't see it.

Among these "brilliant" numbskulls are those so enamored of their eschatological fantasies that they WANT to bring on the apocalypse. Among these are Freemasons (the phoenix rises from the ashes), Jesuits (Jesus returns and vanquishes eeevil), Sabbatean Jews (bring on the Messiah per Sanhedrin 98a while having a good ol' time defiling every law of G_d), and all sharing a dotted line to Islam (the Mahdi).

What they don't know is that the Bible contains a counter-strategy, lost for over 3,000 years. It was centered on maintaining a healthy relationship between the nomads of the land (herders, fishermen, hunters, ...) and the agro-urban population. The latter were to guard a year's worth of food in storage in the wild, to be consumed and refreshed ever Sabbath year such that the former would never be subject to siege. They were to practice an evacuation and muster every year in Jerusalem, maintain their tribal command structure (the real meaning of the Fifth Commandment), and learn to survive on the land during the Sabbath. It was an amazing system, totally misunderstood, until now.

I guess I should say that I wrote that book.

I don't have to study the issue...I want the small independent farmers to have choice on whether to grow GM, conventional or organic, and not have some government official or greenpeace type tell them how to run their business. The didn't work too well when they do in Communist or Socialist countries. Very difficult for me to understand how anyone who is for freedom is for telling a farmer on what crops the must grow. What I am seeing from you supporters of Prop 37, is that is a sham...you don't just want labeling, you want to tell the farmer what they must or cannot grow.

Neither am I. I didn't want to write another book. It's just that when you stumble onto something of this magnitude, you do have a responsibility to tell the world what you found. So I did. I ended up retranslating the old Cain and Abel story. Guess what? Same theme. It's not a 'don't kill your brother story at all' but a parable about how the survival of nations hinges upon that pastoral/settler relationship. In my opinion, the story chronicles the beginnings of a desertification process that swept from Mesopotamia to Morocco.
