The Republican party is bracing itself - and preparing to fight back - against Gloria Allred's rumored "October Surprise" on Republican presidential hopeful, Mitt Romney, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.
"We're doing too well to risk 'an Allred,' she can be stopped, but it will take action on our behalf," a GOP watchdog group blogged, asking supporters to contact Romney's campaign headquarters, the Republican National Committee and Judicial Watch.
As previously reported, Drudge Report founder and respected politico, Matt Drudge, tweeted Thursday: "Here she comes. Hearing Gloria Allred out there again, about to make a move. After all, it's her time of the campaign. Team O at the ready!!"
Allred, an outspoken supporter of President Barack Obama refused to confirm, or deny, Drudge's prediction, telling RadarOnline.com: "I have no comment at this time about Mr. Drudge's Tweet. I don't discuss meetings with potential clients."
The Red Side of Life, Conservative Musings from New York says on their website, "Gloria Allred Prepares Anti-Mitt Strike. You Can STOP Her Now! (action!) Don't underestimate Gloria Allred's ability to inflict damage. The media will 'eat up' anything she feeds them and turn it into an endless scandal. Recall she took down Cain and RINO Whitman with NO EVIDENCE. We're doing too well to risk 'an Allred.' She can be stopped, but it will take action on our behalf."
The blog asks supporters to "please make these two calls. We will only get their attention if we bombard them. If you get VM, leave a message," to the Republican National Committee and Mitt Romney's national presidential campaign headquarters.
"The critical points to get across: Warn them about the pending attack (they really may not know) - Explain the severity of damage Allred can inflict - Demand that they get their teams of lawyers to launch a pre-emptive strike against Allred, coming down on her first like a ton of bricks -This is no trifling matter. Let's roll!"
During GOP Meg Whitman's run to become governor of California, Allred represented Nicky Diaz, a former housekeeper for the Whitman family. The housekeeper alleged that she was terminated from her employment because she was an illegal immigrant and that could have derailed Whitman's quest to become California's first female governor. Whitman ultimately lost the election to Democrat Jerry Brown.
Allred was a delegate for President Obama at the DNC in North Carolina last summer.
Most polls show the presidential race between President Obama and Governor Romney to be in a statistical dead heat, with both candidates heavily courting the female vote.
“Ryan”
Uh oh. Never thought of that.
I see the Dems pulling out the old stand-by bias tactics, but it doesn’t seem to be working this year. I’ve certainly seen a lot more evidence that it isn’t than I have in other years.
Folks got so burned by Obama, that they’re over the manipulation game. Fool me once shame on you... fool me twice shame on me, seems to be the modus operandi this year.
I’m not seeking to say it’s not working at all, but there are definitely some cracks beginning to appear in Camelot central.
Blacks and Hispanics have had it up to here too. This ‘dope and cringe’ (hope and change, failed) stuff has been hitting them harder than us.
I’d bet that Mitt is one of those smart executives who doesn’t meet behind closed doors with women. I would think his time as a pastor would have taught him that.
You have to expect willful ignorance from those predisposed to vote democrat, but I really cannot believe there are that many undecided voters who would be so stupid as to fall for the same tactics over & over again.
I don’t think Mitt personally interviewed any of the women, initially, either. He would have met them AFTER screening and hiring, however, and probably not in a one-on-one situation, I would hope. Likewise, it may be a claim that in the hallway, or some other meeting, it occurred (I’m just hypothesizing on this because of what AllRed’s usual M.O. is in the “Cases” she brings forth to smear someone)
Either that or she’d go after one of his sons. Put nothing past this vile beast.
Look at the box-cars full of horse poey they flung at Sarah Palin in 2008. I don’t think that had much impact. She was the shining part of the McCain ticket. She got him double digits IMO. Slamming Ryan won’t accomplish much this time either.
He’s not the top of the ticket. Folks are sick and tired of gotcha politics. Gloria Alred is about as popular as a case of the clap. Tell you what Gloria, two doses of penicillin and you’re gone. Give it your best shot gopher breath!
Maybe, but check out post 47. If they go for family members, there’s going to be a measurable anger vote as a result.’
People feel gamed by 2008. They’re in no mood to be hoodwinked again, and they’ll resent big-time if it begins to smell even close to it.
She managed to torpedo Whitman's race against Brown in California with the "illegal alien" maid. She has no scruples, and all it takes is an accusation to turn the tide against someone.
You’d like to think so wouldn’t you. Me too. But there’s millions more new voters every four years, who are voting for the first time.
It’s the same reason why the RP doesn’t need anyone old enough to be on to them. They replace us with new heads full of mush, who think they’re doing the right thing, but are too ill-informed to avoid doing the wrong thing for a few general elections.
Agree.
Daily Kos removed the story, using the link you provided.
Stop her in her tracks....get the dirt out on Gloria first. You know there must be tons of it.
Yep. All it takes is a few votes.
I agree. I hope I live long enough to piss on the bitch’s grave.
As sleazy as this old skank is why haven’t Repubs found something they can use to take her out? She has cost us alot of important seats so destroying her should be a top priority.
Was she involved with the Bruce Hershenson take-down? I’ve forgotten. Remember, he had a few drinks with someone at a topless bar or some such, and it killed his viability overnight.
The Democratic Hacks in the Great and General Court (the Massachusetts legislature) used to call him Dudley Do-Right.
Yes they did didn’t they.
I can’t believe how fast he departed though. I was sad about it, but what the hey.
Thanks.
