I thought Romney handled the lie about Bengazi very well, even if he was caught off guard. He pushed hard for clarification and when Candy Crowley tried to cover for Obama and Obama went along, it made the situation far worse; especially since the lie is so easy to refute.

Romney is going to hammer Obama with this lie on Monday.

Something Obama said that also stood out to me that I haven't heard any comments on:

"These aren't just representatives of the United States. They're my representatives."

This sounded really odd and backwards to me.

At that point you must have to think so quickly and about so many angles. Any misstep and the left will blow it up. So, while you can prepare for so many scenarios, you can’t prepare for them all. And who coulda prepared for that debacle? You don’t want to be too aggressive, appear too angry, too much of a bully, too soft...I’d imagine you might start questioning your own version of the events as two lying liars are telling you that you didn’t read what you read...you can’t be wrong because then they’ll run with that meme. Romney handled a bizarre situation as well as could be expected, I guess.

I hope Mitt uses the: I mean what I say examples.

Many great opportunities now exist to expose OBama’s- they hate for our YoUTube position.

““despite what you and Ms. Crowley tried to make the audience believe...””

He’s not going to make the debate about Candy. This is about Obama.

When I watched the hearings I remember them speaking about the Feb. 17 Martyrs Brigade.

Ouote from article: "The militiamen flatly deny supporting the assailants but acknowledge that their large, government-allied force, known as the Feb. 17 Martyrs Brigade, could include anti-American elements.

Romney should have stated “No, sir, I am offended that as commander in chief you reportedly have attended less than half of your scheduled daily briefs and as a result we have 4 dead Americans in Libya”.

Just one more example of “me, me, me.”

Maybe there aren’t any comments until yours because we’re so accustomed to this from him that it’s no longer remarkable.

My take is that he was trying to sound “in charge” especially after catching flak for having Hillary take the blame, which ended up making him look weak rather than blameless.

His debate gambit just made him look weaker and more pathetic, imo. When you have to posture so much and proclaim your power, it just shows how little you really have.

There is just so much for Romney to choose from! He can’t possibly cram all the great responses into 2 minutes.

Romney is going to hammer Obama with this lie on Monday.

Yes. Through all the parsing, the content is clear. Forget the precise words and look at the basic exchange:

A) Romney accused Obama of pushing the spontaneous attack during demonstration lie instead of the truth of a pre-planned organized attack - which was obvious and known at the time.

B) Obama objected to Romney's accusation, claims he said otherwise the day after.

C) Romney asks Obama to repeat for the record.

D) Obama sticks to it.

There is *no point to the whole exchange * if Obama is not contradicting Romney's accusation that they were claiming there was a spontaneous attack after a demonstration over the video.

Obama perjured himself badly. Axelrod and Plouffe will spend hours on how to get his ass out of this sling in the next debate on foreign policy. All Romney has to do is the same question again: "You said in the Rose Garden the day after the attack it was an act of terror; it was not a spontaneous demonstration. Is that what you are saying?"

I still want to know how Obama knew Crowley had the Rose Garden transcript in front of her.

Did Obama, Crowley and Michelle rehearse that whole exchange?

Are we supposed to believe that Crowley read the Rose Garden speech in the 20 seconds it took for Romney to get the President’s lie on the record?

The rest of the country was watching another Clintonesque lie-to-our-face moment while Crowley had a “Shazzam, it depends on meaning what the meaning of is is” moment.

Obama seemed sure that Crowley had the transcript of that speech at her fingertips to read on command.

Those who think Romney should have come back with some clever retort were looking for an instant put down of Oboma, but it appears the Governor was playing for the long term. By forcing Oboma to reaffirm his statement, he took away the argument that he just misspoke. He also put Oboma’s cheer leaders in the media in the position of agreeing with the argument that their hero was aware it was terrorism on September 12. Romney will have plenty of time in the next debate to lay out the impossibility that Oboma could have believed it was terrorism on September 12, and also believed the story his press secretary was putting out daily or the story his U.N. Ambassador put out on the Sunday Shows, or the statement he made before the U.N. Oboma is in a bind as are his enablers and there is no graceful way out. He either deceived the public in September or during this debate. It appears Romney did quite well with the limited time he had to work with.

Me too. The way that Obummer told Candy CowFace to repeat the lie. The way that she obliged with the paper in her hand. It was all too choreographed.

Romney and also the conservative pundits all day have been treating the debate like it was politics. It wasn’t.

Bracky is like the Groovy Guru from Get Smart (a figment of Mel Brooks’ superior imagination).
