WASHINGTON, D.C. -- U.S. unemployment, as measured by Gallup without seasonal adjustment, is 7.3% in mid-October, down considerably from 7.9% at the end of September and at a new low since Gallup began collecting employment data in January 2010. Gallup's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate is 7.7%, also down from September. October's adjusted mid-month measure is also more than a percentage point lower than October 2011.

Is this the continuation of the Romney Rally?
Should be 6% by Oct 23, then 5% Oct. 30, then 4.2% Nov 5! Shazaamm!
(hey, it's as good an bullsh t explanation to anything the MSM has to offer)
That is a Reagan retort if I ever saw one. A winner.
“The decline in unemployment but uptick in the number of Americans working part time but looking for full-time work is likely the result of seasonal hiring, which picks up in the fall for Halloween and continues through the end of the holiday season.”
What state(s) did they leave out of the report this time??
I happen to believe t hat unemployment is getting lower, and will trend to track down For a while. Bls will show this tomorrow, you will see.
businesses have gotten tired of waiting to hire, and will fill a few needs.
I assume that Gallup is hiring “seasonal” workers.
But the issue is WHY is it getting lower. 1) people dropping out of the work force lowers the denominator even if the number working does not change. 2) people are getting hired PART-TIME but want full time employment.
If more are working at all it is a good thing but that is a big IF.
Remember how hiring began to slow down when it was assumed that Pelosi and Reid would gain control of the House and Senate before the election even happened?
Remember how hiring abruptly haulted and businesses began tightening their belts almost immediately after the election 2006?
I'm not saying this is the case for this story but it is something to keep in mind.
Why doesn’t anybody get this? The market priced in a socialist president when Obummer looked like he was going to win....now the market is pricing in a market conscious, business knowledgeable president...Romney. It couldn’t be more clear.
Right after they got sued by the regime for putting out unacceptable polling numbers.
Sorry, this is just too convenient.
It’s not going to save BO’s ass, because everyone thinks he a massive liar these days.
Thanks for posting that graphic; it’s breathtaking, and should be devastating. I reposted on my Facebook page.
Thanks. Spread that graphic far and wide. It tells the unvarnished truth about unemployment under Obama better than any article can.
The drill: When the adjusted numbers are LOWER than the unadjusted numbers, use the adjusted numbers. When the adjusted numbers are HIGHER than the unadjusted numbers, use the unadjusted numbers (at least when a Democrat is in office).
And yet jobless claims are up (unexpectedly, no doubt) by 46,000:
