Something else to watch on the eve of November 6th. The Stock Market Futures. It's just a matter of "The More We See Red,The Higher The Futures".It will be interesting to see the crowds rushing to Best Buy,Wal Mart and Apple stores the day after Romney wins in a landslide. It will be like Chick-Fil-A day 100 Times Over!
Right. If Obama “Wins” it’s not because Cook County has gone national and enough of the welfare class, deadened illegals voted for him - he will “win” only because principled Conservative Christians refused to vote for Romney.
Makes about as much a sense as those that insist Romney is a Reagan Conservative.
I agree. I think a senate dem minority that is still capable of a filibuster is going to be a roadblock for anything getting done by the stupid party that is filled with rinos who dont want to undo socialism, anyway. We shall see, but my expectations are low.
You make comments like this from time to time. I’m not convinced you’re wrong. We do have a number of economic differences today, some that may preclude our pulling out of this in a few years.
Growth was very slow under Bush, and he did come up with tax cuts. I’m not sure how their size compares to what Reagan did. I’ve advocated cuts to spur the economy, but you may have a point that it didn’t work under Bush. On the other hand, Bush’s cuts may not have been drastic enough to spur growth.
What’s your take on what would turn this economy around?
I personally think that pulling back a lot of our manufacturing would help. It puts people to work here, and their salaries when spent will put a lot of others back to work.
Later...
Sure know how to take the fun out of it...
What happens on Nov 7th? Obama has more flexibility. It’s already been transmitted to Vladimir.
For starters...
Nice try, but i want you to tell me who forced people to vote for Romney. Was it mind control? Was it a drug?
Whether you and i like it, people, of their own free will voted for Romney.
If you actually believe that the whole GOP-E process was above board, completely honest, and without any kind of skullduggery, then you are as clueless as the libs.
Palin made her fateful decision after it became abundantly clear that the GOP-E would not support, or even accept her, as the Republican candidate, if she swept the primaries and caucuses. Team Romney began working against her the same day that McCain selected her as his VP running mate, and near the end, in October 2008 plunged their daggers into her back for the express purpose of crippling her viability as a 2012 candidate. The GOP-E’s complete abandonment of Palin after Tucson was a message received loud and clear.
If Obamacare is not repealed then the Republican party is dead and a third party will arise.
“” I’ve spoken out against Romney as strenuously as anyone here leading up to the convention. I detest the games that were played with various primaries and with convention delegates themselves. It does not bode well, and Romney will at best be merely more circumspect about creeping progressivism, a little less quick with the trigger.
But, there is not a large difference between the two, Romney and Obama, other than this: for all his faults and weaknesses from a social and even fiscal conservative point of view, he does not hate this country. I’ve seen ample evidence that Obama does.
In the rough times that are just as surely ahead if Romney wins as they are if Obama does, I’d rather have the middling good-government type with at least some degree of empathy for and identification with Americans, than the barely concealed radical who wants to continue to damage the economy and the institutions of the United States in an attempt at remolding it.
There is no other candidate remotely positioned to unseat Obama. Obama has got to go. Beyond that, I have no delusions as to just what we’d be getting.””
I read the situation just as you do. I was for Cain, as the least offensive of the candidates, and that was due to his understanding of economics. As for Obama, he has a goal to destroy our economy and then rebuild it into some horrific socialist hellhole.Things will get much worse with another Obama term. Obama has to go. Romney may turn the economy around to a certain extent, but anyone thinking he will be conservative is delusional.
Nobody is suggesting that anyone else will beat Obama. My suggestion is that people get a grip and be realistic about the financial situation.
” I personally think Santorum had the best direct plan to get people back to work by eliminating the insane taxation imposed at the manufacturing level. Combined with other tax cuts across the board and a return to rational regulatory levels it gives business a reason to invest in America.”
Santorum had the best ideas overall.
There is a way to cut capital gains, tied to ITC’s in AMERICAN manufacturing, and American business expansion, but none of these politicians have the balls to fight big business.
” My suggestion is that people get a grip and be realistic about the financial situation.”
I’m 100% with you on this. Even if Romney pushes the right buttons, it will take many years to even start to turn around the mess we are in. And it will take more than Romney to do it.
Need I remind you that when GWB left office, left it to Obama, Pelosi and Reid, Democrats were trusted more on every single issue more than Rs, including taxes and national defense. There were no or few polls showing Rs trusted on ANYTHING.
The R party was considered a national joke.
And we were DAILY lectured that all the polls were rigged, that the election was rigged, that GWB had no responsibility for anything that went wrong in all 8 years, just saving the economy but not its collapse, the bad stuff his last two years was all Clinton and Carters faults, and we were told we have to repeat that line or ‘we are helping the left’.
Will Romney be any better, or will it be the same old song?
Your comments remind me of the clueless soul who decided to play Russian Roulette with a 1911 fully loaded magazine. And just in case you’re from California, a revolver gives a one in five or six chance of blowing your brains out, whereas the 1911 is 100 % certain to blow your brains out. Perhaps even you can figure out which one the 1911 represents ...
” Need I remind you that when GWB left office, left it to Obama, Pelosi and Reid, Democrats were trusted more on every single issue more than Rs, including taxes and national defense. There were no or few polls showing Rs trusted on ANYTHING.”
Thanks to Bush. The people just wanted him out. Obama won the lottery.
” Will Romney be any better, or will it be the same old song? “
Maybe better, maybe not. We are stuck with Romney, the unknown quantity, or a certain full blown depression with Obama. There is our pitiful, unfortunate choice, but the choice is clear for me.
