I don’t think that he claimed that the U.S. HAD doubled exports while he’s been in office; instead, he is promising that we WILL double exports (which is, of course, only possible if the leaders of industry have the advantage of his superior knowledge about all things...barf).
FYI, the only way for the largest economy in the world to double exports in 4 years is to undergo a massive currency devaluation - productivity and inventiveness CAN’T work that fast. Such a devaluation would be looked upon as a trade war, and would be met with worldwide competitive devaluations - so it wouldn’t even work, to say nothing of the immensely disruptive effects it would have. Literally millions worldwide would starve, and probably a few actually shooting wars would start.
The man is, at best, a complete dunce. At worst, he’s the spawn of Satan - and I’m leaning in that direction.
He is a pure Commie liar and he would have been very successful in a place like Uganda,Indonesia or Kenya.
Socialism can be sold to people who eat everyother day but not to a country where even the “poor” people live like kings compared to most of the planet.
We have plumbing and clean drinking water even in our deserts. If you go hungry here that is a choice you made.

Interesting, from 2002 to 2008 exports DID nearly double under Bush.
Correct his claim to double US exports over the 2009 rates by end of 2014 is not happening.
“The Facts: The U.S. isn’t on pace to double exports and is highly unlikely to meet that target. In the 32 months from January 2010 through August 2012, exports grew at an average annual rate of 12.7 percent, falling behind the 14.9 percent required to double exports by the end of 2014.” Business week by Bloomberg news 10-17-12
