Obama wins the second debate. Too bad it’s not the one that mattered [disgusting Obama media bias!]
Yahoo News ^ | October 17, 2012 | Jeff Greenfield

Posted on 10/17/2012 1:04:21 AM PDT by ETL

When the evening began, one observation dominated the conversation: “If President Barack Obama has another debate like the last one, the election’s over.”

When the evening ended, I was struck by a different thought: If Obama had performed this way at the first debate, the election would have been over.

In every debate, whatever the format, whatever the questions, there is one and only one way to identify the winner: Who commands the room? Who drives the narrative? Who is in charge? More often than not on Tuesday night, I think, Obama had the better of it.

I didn’t watch the 1st debate so all I could do was go by what everyone else said. Having said that, I am at a loss to see how anyone can think Obama one last night! When Romney told him that “was a statement not a question” aka sit down while the grown up speaks, Obama went and sat down, just like a child who had been scolded.
Also the way he kept watching the clock and as soon as Romney would say something he didn’t like Obama would start hollering, “Uh, Candy, Candy that’s not the rules,” etc., it made him look very childish esp. knowing that he was getting more time. All I heard was, “Mommy, uh mommy he’s being mean to me.” What a joke.
And boy was Candy ever ready to shut Romney down on fast and furious! Saying he was off topic. Pff! He was EXACTLY on target! And who can forget Candy debating Romney for Obama concering the statement in the rose garden. When he said act of terror he was finishing up talking about 09/11/01 not 09/11 of this year. To me all that did was make him look more inept because he needed the moderator to step up and debate for him. You know, to be his fat, stupid, liberal human teleprompter.

Obama did great, and I want to vote for him. I heard last night in the debate that he is a strong believer in coal, is drilling oil on Federal lands like never before, respects the 2nd amendment and has as one of his highest goals responsibly reducing the defecit. What a guy!

There is no question that the change in the Obama demeanor was dramatic when compared to the earlier debate. As to prevailing on the above, he merely held his own.

Obama’s problem is that in spite of making demeanor change and making points, his rambling was infused with lies that people know are lies. Lies subtract more per incident than the points per incident add.

I just came back last week from a couple weeks in London—so I’ve been lucky enough not to be buried in election talk. I’ve been spending time since in 2 “battleground” states for the past 8 days: PA and northeastern Ohio.

I’ll tell you, based on talking to people, yard signs, overheard conversations etc, local talk radio, all unscientific, I know, but I’ve been around—and things are very different this year. I think Romney’s going to steamroller BO flat—I’m not kidding. I see Romney signs, bumper stickers, etc where I never thought I’d see them—much more than for McCain—also the amazing lack of BO signs—many houses have 6-7 Dem signs—local, state, congresscretins, etc but no BO.

The 2 most prevalent signs are For Sale home signs and For Lease signs where someone’s business went belly up—people in Ohio are hurting worse than ever.

I think ( and pray) that the BO and Joe Klown Show is almost over.

When the evening ended, I was struck by a different thought: If Obama had performed this way at the first debate, the election would have been over.

Sorry, this is a "non sequitur" (it does not follow) fallacy and the younger Jeff Greenfield (when he was intelligent) would not have made it.

What we forget at this 2 week remove from the 1st Presidential Debate is that it was as much Romney dispelling the stereotype hammered by the 4 months of Obama attacks as it was Obama's lackluster performance. The media meme going in was that Obama had already won and he could just smile and there would be a halo over his head. Instead an engaged and obviously capable Romney showed that he did not eat babies nor did he have a pitchfork & tail.

Obama could have been just like he was last night and still fallen short as his opponent, unlike the McCain punching bag of 2008, demonstrated that all of the negative ads were false and misleading. Yes the combination of the two extremes that did show in that debate were striking but to take only Obama's failure is to ignore Romney's real accomplishment.

Personally, I think this is the establishment left's start of a new explanation on how the 2012 election is/was lost. It was Obama's failure, not Romney's success. While there is real truth to this, the focus on just the debate failure loses sight of the 4 year failure as well as the extreme campaign advertising failures from May to September that painted Romney as Gordon Gekko.

the producers at FNF must be homosexuals. They have a log cabin homosexual pushing the homos is just people because marriage was not discussed.

The MSM is too stupid to reaize Romney said Moms and Dads, not generic “parents” (yes he did say parents but he prefaced it)

It is a tip to marriage and children need a mother and father and that is what marriage is made of.
