Wow - thanks for posting. Lots of store brand peanut butter on that list. I think Archer Farms is Target's brand.

Looks like the peanut butter products likey to be in our house are safe - Skippy, Jif and Lance Peanut Butter Crackers are not on the recall list. Thanks to my wife being a couponer, and peanut butter having a long shelf life, it's rare for us to have store brand, but I'll need to pass this on to my kids who don't all have time to coupon.

The wife and I eat Trader Joe’s non-organic versions of their creamy and crunchy peanut butters. Keeping our fingers crossed they don’t end up on the list.

When I want peanuts, I go to the Asian market, and buy redskin peanuts. You boil them in salted water, and pick at them with your chopsticks. Wonderful treat, boiled peanuts. I’m thinking that boiling them in salt water kills any bacteria,,,, I hope!

Was that exempt from the original Trader Joe recall?

We use Smart Balance Peanut Butter, which I don’t see on any of these lists.

It’s sold by just about every food store around these parts. It’s very good pnb—and is actually supposed to lower your cholesterol and triclyceride levels.

I use sunbutter . Made of sunflower seeds. Very good. Used to go for almond butter.
A little more expensive but no worries with recalls.

How many peanut recalls we have?

"Trader Joe’s non-organic versions "

How's that inorganic PB working out?

LOL. I knew something didn’t look right after I posted my response. Trader Joes has their “Organic” and “Natural” peanut butters. We’re using the latter, which isn’t on the list as of today.

I came across "non-organic" wrt food in the last few weeks and though I may have seen it thousands of times b4, it set my sensors off this time.

The whole organic thing seems largely a crock (I've survived a few score to date - ;-) ), but the opposite of organic is inorganic in my (simplistic) book. Just taking it out on you now that I'm tuned into it.

About two weeks ago I became violently violently ill — I turned inside and out trying to get whatever it was OUT. Lost 2 days of work, should have been out a week.

Just saw the salmonella list a few days ago — LOVE peanut butter and eat a lot of it!! AND, I buy the brands on that list — Trader Joe’s and Target.

I’ve switched to almond butter — maybe permanently!! I do not EVER want to be sick like that again...

We’ve used the Smart Balance brand of margarine for years, also. Tastes a lot like butter, is a healthy product, and can be used for cooking, also.
