2008:
“Senator Barack Obama won with 57 percent of the vote, to 39 percent for Republican nominee Senator John McCain.”
So in 2008, Obama won this by 18 points while winning by 7 in the real election. I’m hoping this one is 11 points overly optimistic for Obama this time as well.
I seriously wouldn’t worry because of this. BHO is a pop cultural figure to kids like no other prez has been. He’s just popular, so they like him and would vote for him. Additionally, the first presidential debate, which seems to have reversed the dynamics of the race, is something no kid would be interested in. or really affected by.
This is just the effect of a “hip” president who likes Big Bird on impressionable minds that don’t use analytical thought.
Proves how well the indoctrination of our schools is working. Seriously, Arizona goes for Obama? I weep for our schools.
I am sure Obozo has the Nickelodeon vote all locked up, too!
I wonder if they still have in-class discussion of the George Orwell books, “1984” and “Animal Farm”?
President Adam Sandler and VP Kee$ha, can you B-LEAVE it?!!!
Bet the kids can all name 5 celebrities who’ve endorsed Obama and would be hard pressed to think of 2 who’ve endorsed Romney.
George H. W. Bush won this mock election in 1992, so they’re not always right.
How many young people know the VP names?
This may have been historically accurate in the past, but that was when the basis for the formation of the kids’ opinions was listening to their parents’ conversations and overhearing tidbits of info. The name ID of Obama is likely higher than any other POTUS among this age group because him and his wookie are on the kids’ channels ALL THE FREAKING TIME! Seems like Moochelle is a mouseketeer as much as she is on the Disney channel. And the prez can’t meet with Netanyahu, but he can sit for an hour with Nickelodeon. BHO’s numbers should be a LOT higher than this given all the free advertising he gets on the kids’ networks.
I think we are seeing more kids influenced by their teachers than by what their parents are saying -- if they're parents even agree with each other, in the first place!
Yeah, didn’t Mooch get slimed???
I happened to view Sat morning kiddie fare this past Sat at a hospital - Dad had had surgery - and could NOT believe what I saw. Tax payer funded ads every other commercial spot, primarily, “Let’s Move”, Mooch’s program...
total indoctrination...turn OFF the TV, people!
“...and Romney will carry Texas by 2%.”
Yeah, that’s about on par with the “scientific” election results in my son’s class, in which he was the only Romney voter out of 22 or 23 kids...in an upper middle-class section of a Texan city (not the PDR of Austin, either). I call BS! Maybe it used to be that polls of school kids were accurate, but now they aren’t.
“George H. W. Bush won this mock election in 1992, so theyre not always right.”
Unfortunately that isn’t true. They’ve only been wrong twice in 72 years: 1948 and 1960.
“George H. W. Bush won this mock election in 1992, so theyre not always right.”
You might be thinking of the Weekly Reader poll.
Yes, I was.
