NBC Unearths Major Scandal: Paul Ryan May Have Washed Dishes That Were Already Clean By Kyle Drennen Created 10/16/2012 - 12:21pm
In a pathetic attempt to smear Republican vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan ahead of Tuesday's second presidential debate, NBC's Today seized on a story in Monday's Washington Post accusing Ryan and his family of washing already clean pots and pans at a soup kitchen in Ohio for a photo-op. Co-host Matt Lauer wondered: "Would a campaign do that? We're gonna talk about it." [Listen to the audio or watch the video after the jump]
Following a report on Secretary of State Hillary Clinton taking responsibility for security failures in the terrorist attack on the U.S. consulate in Libya, political director and chief White House correspondent Chuck Todd actually treated the supposed dishwashing incident as if it were a scandal: "Paul Ryan is dealing with some fallout from that weekend photo-op....something that that the campaign is a little nervous about because they're trying to get through this idea of whether they're in touch or out of touch."
ABC's Good Morning America and CBS This Morning chose not to cover dishwashing-gate.
After Todd's reporting on the manufactured controversy, Lauer turned to former McCain advisor and MSNBC contributor Steve Schmidt, again asking: "Is it within the realm of possibility that Paul Ryan was washing clean dishes? Would a campaign do that, Steve?" Schmidt replied: "It is absolutely within the realm of possibility." That prompted a roar of laughter, with Lauer adding: "I thought you were gonna say no...Wow, okay, that's good."
In the Washington Post article, Brian Antal, president of the Mahoning County St. Vincent De Paul Society charity that ran the soup kitchen, attacked the Romney campaign for having "ramrodded their way" into the facility.
Antal claimed to be politically independent, however, the Post later updated the item to note that he had voted in Democratic primaries for the past 17 years.
Here are portions of the October 16 coverage that included the cheap shot:

MATT LAUER: We all know that campaigns are about creating images. Well, some people are paying attention to this image right here, that's Paul Ryan, he was washing dishes at a soup kitchen in Ohio over the weekend. But now the charity's president says the dishes that he was washing were already clean. Would a campaign do that? We're gonna talk about it.

CHUCK TODD: Meantime, Paul Ryan is dealing with some fallout from that weekend photo-op. He visited a soup kitchen in Ohio, cleaned dishes. Well now, according to the Washington Post, the charity's president says those dishes were, in fact, already clean. Matt, it is something that that the campaign is a little nervous about because they're trying to get through this idea of whether they're in touch or out of touch.

LAUER: You've run your share of campaigns. Is it within the realm of possibility that Paul Ryan was washing clean dishes? Would a campaign do that, Steve?
STEVE SCHMIDT: It is absolutely within the realm of possibility.
[LAUGHTER]
LAUER: I thought you were gonna say no.
SCHIMDT: And those dishes are extra clean now, absolutely.
LAUER: Wow, okay, that's good.

There are rumors that a poor registered Democrat may already have licked the dishes clean.
Then Ryan, the racist, comes along and “cleans” them.
It’s a ridiculous photo op, regardless.
This bunch of desperate ObamaBots are really having a tough time finding dirt on Ryan....or the dishes. Don’t they know how ridiculous they appear?
AND—he tore the “do not remove” tag off of a pillow without the advise and consent of Congress!
That does it! Mitt participated in hazing 50 years ago, made his diarrhetic dog ride atop the station wagon, and now Ryan washes clean dishes in a soup kitchen! Is there no depths of depravity to which these two won’t sink? And on top of it all, Mitt is a successful businessman who only gave 30% to charity last year! Shameful!
LOL

I predict the Obama tribe will schedule a photo op at a soup kitchen next week.
liberals are walking human parodies
“I also have it on good authority that he once taped a baseball game without the expressed written consent of the Commissioner of Baseball.”
He also pulled the tag off of a mattress..... when he was 7.
What is truly pathetic is that the talkers probably thought that they had an important "scoop." Still, probably not important enough to get them an invitation to have tea with the Mad Hatter.
Did those actually aware of what was going on witness similar idiocy in the last days of Rome? I wonder.

Just like it was important to bird-dog the trade license of Joe the Plumber and the DNA of Palin’s Down Syndrome child.
As Rush says, in 2008 the media went from biased to being part of the Dem campaign apparatus.
Due to the economic meltdown, these soup kitchens have been busier, the meltdown is because of Bush. Therefore- it’s Bush’s fault!
As as I say, the Pravda Press has gone from ‘being biased’, straight on through to ‘utterly surreal’.
Wow. That’s pretty awful. Almost as bad as Ryan drinking too much water during the debate. Well, that just does it for me. I’m voting for Obama!!!
The bullet headed stooge who f'd up McCain's bid....I see he has a goatee these days and gained 50lbs at the free DC buffets. If you are even slightly connected in Washington DC you never have to cook dinner again. There are always free feeds and drinks thrown by lobbyists, lawyers, influence peddlers, contractors looking to secure Gov't work, and other bottom feeders. You like shrimp? You can eat it every night though sometimes the caterer is careless and it might be rubbery, dittos for the chicken. But you won't starve, Steve Schmidt is walking waddling proof of this.
I hear that! LOL
He ran with scissors when he was in grade school, too. Why would we want a loose cannon like that in the vital office of Vice President? We’d better stick with somebody sane and normal like Joe Biden.
How dare he waste water and pollute with that unnecessary soap. Mother Earth cringes under his touch...How senseless!!!! Surely, we must now elect him so that we can impeach him for his crime against nature. This is much worse than covering-up an ambassador and others’ deaths.
