And Akin publicly retracted his erroneous opine, which should have been the end of the story.
I hope Todd gives his rival an “Akin’” head.
(((Ping)))
Very good. Is it possible the GOP is clandestinely funding Akin, using people like Rand Paul and others as surrogates? That would be an acceptable strategy to me in order to insulate Romney, yet gain the Senate seat.
Rand Paul, a conservative (i.e. real republican) helps republicans and goes after democrats (see his ads against Nelson, etc) while Lindsay Graham, a moderate republican (i.e. democrat) and his buddies goes after Akin and defends democrats.
We see the divide.
When he gets to the Senate Akin will know who his friends are.
When President Romney is sworn in, and the Republican Congress is seated, our real work will begin. Every Freeper must become a modern day pen-pal with his congressional delegation. If we do not keep the heat on them to repeal Obamacare, reform the administrative state and deal with overspending, they will slip back into the rino comfort zone. Our republic cannot survive without drastic actions.
Rand Paul, a real Republican.
Akin will win this. McCackle stinks and the people don’t like her.
How many times do the rats say stupid things and never apologize. Good for Akin. I hope he whoops McCaskill’s butt. She’s been shilling for obama since day one.
Cowardly politics at its best. They say they won’t do anything to help Akin, they can’t be seen to be doing anything to help, but they still get the credit.
I don’t place much faith in a party that embraces deception of the electorate (even if that is acceptable to you). I want a party stands up for its beliefs and stands by its people.
I believe you have to play the hand your dealt. Some important demographic groups Romney needs to win over would not smile upon his overt support of Akin. I appreciate and admire your purist perspective, but we need to be like our enemies and play to win.
I agree and I want Akin to win. We all know that the MSM was not going to let his statement go away so that is why I initially wanted him to drop out -- this election is critical and someone else would have had a better chance. But he stayed in and I certainly want him over Obamacare Claire.
Good for Rand.
Send ObamaClaire packing.
I hope Akins wins then changes his party affiliation to Independent so the GOP has to kiss his azz for support on any key legislation.
RINO's need to be removed from control of this Party or it will be replaced. Romney wasn't the RINO's first choice, but he still was their choice. But Romney is going to have to stand with the Tea Party base or his support will evaporate.
Rand Paul should be majority leader.
Time we had someone with guts.
Yes. Around 7:30 on Wednesday night.
it was an excellent speech
Excellent point. No more weeping leaders!
BS. What about the over 200,000 GOP voters who supported Akin during the primary? What about the pro-life and religious groups?
This begs the question. Romney and Ryan should never have asked Akin to withdraw nor should the RNC been involved. Akin apologized within 24 hours. The proper response from Romney/Ryan and the RNC was that they didn't condone Akin's remarks, accepted his apology, and that we should move on to address the concerns of Missouri voters including the repeal of Obamacare and growing the economy for more jobs.
