The town-hall debate is the one presidential faceoff in which the audience gets to ask the questions.
But don’t tell that to moderator Candy Crowley.
Like any journalist worthy of the assignment, Crowley concedes that the debate on Tuesday night isn’t about her, but she just as eagerly acknowledges her role in it.

The Town Hall event that year was when the "pony-tail guy" stood up and said to Clinton "we are your children - take care of us ..."
Made me gag.
I think that was when Bush looked at his watch.

On Talkback Live, one of the favorite ways of doing this was, “Let me rephrase the question,....” Then they would load the question with a false choice or bias where the only thing someone could do was to not answer the question. Then the CNN “Facilitator” would claim that the respondent didn't answer the question.

Not only will the questions be submitted in advance, the questioners will be known to CNN. I’ve always wondered why someone doesn’t lie in their submitted question then ask whatever the hell they want to ask. It has to be because all the questioners are plants. The media is no different from an old tent revival faith healer.
I’m sure most of the media are truly liberals. But there are probably a few who look at the job openings and realize 99 out of a 100 call for liberal beliefs only. There are only so many jobs available at FOX, and it’s even leaning left, and no liberal talk show pays much.
