A North Carolina university’s student government has voted to ban a Chick-fil-a restaurant on campus because the fast-food chain’s president is against gay marriage.
Elon University’s Student Government Association voted 35-11 to ask its food vendor to find another restaurant to take its place, the Daily Advance reports.

I’d love to hear a lawyers perspective on the most severe path CFA can take against the council and the university.
If the propagandists on the student government manage to get the school’s policy changed, the Chick-fil-A folks ought to sue the sue for all its worth. A blatant case of stifling free speech.
George Orwell’s “1984” and thought police! Chick-fil-A (CfA) has no history of denial of service or employment to any GLBT group or person on the basis of their orientation.
Instead, the owner of CfA is a devout Christian with an accepted and common view of Christian mores. He lives his principals by closing the entire chain on Sundays (”Day of Rest”) and supporting traditional marriage.
The LGBT pressure groups use this media-driven topic to try to punish a company for the dislike they have for its owner. to me this meets the definition of a “Secondary Boycott”; A group’s refusal to work for, purchase from, or handle the products of a business with which the group has no dispute. In many areas this is considered an illegal action by trade unions but not by individuals. Where this action ends up will become the unfortunate province of the lawyers and courts.

Elon has become like a little kid sister taking up bad habits trying to be like the big kids, they’re quite the bunch of strivers and have never met a goofy academic fad that they didn’t dive into with abandon. See, they’re a big university now. Woohoo. Silliness.
Three decades ago, they were a small pro-Christian college. Abandoned their mascot for a meaningless legendary bird that has nothing to do with the institution. Went on a building spree like all the state run universities. Me too, me too!
They’re going to find that older alums, the ones who actually have money to donate, won’t like this. They graduated as Fighting Christians.
