As President Obama began to hunker down at a plush resort here for three full days of debate prep, his campaign team signaled the incumbent may steal a page from Vice President Joe Biden and show a more aggressive tone in Tuesday's second face-to-face showdown with Republican Mitt Romney. "Gov. Romney has been making pitches all of his life and he knows how to say what people want to hear whether that was during his time at Bain or during the dozens of town halls he did during the primary," said Obama campaign spokeswoman Jen Psaki said Saturday.

I hope the Romney people are smart enough to see that this “leak” is a deliberate distraction for which they are hoping Romney will waste prep time.
You are right I really know very litle about venture capitalism. I can understand the concept but I haven’t really researched Bain at all because around here NO ONE understands what Romney did at Bain. The deranged liberals just hate him because he is rich they don’t care or understand how he got there.
Yep! GM Bondholders were just a bunch of Mormon haters anyway. He killed off Delphi just for fun.
I see this as the perfect reply. However, Romney has to be able to get it across in less than 15 seconds, because either Obama or Crowley or both will interrupt him if they see it is drawing blood.
The danger of the Town Hall for Romney (or other GOP candidate) is that , by example, the ignorant questioner says “debt” when they mean “deficit,” our guy answers the wrong question, and then the questionner, abetted by the MSM, declares the GOP candidate stupid and “out of touch.”
Romney should point out that Obama refuses to take responsibility for ANYTHING, but the MSM and DNC assert that Romney is responsible for actions at Bain years after he departed.
I think Romney should give Obama the finger and come out on Tuesday night wearing his trade-mark jeans and collared shirt.
His Majesty can’t string three words together without a teleprompter, unless possibly he has them memorized precisely in advance. I watched Romney on TV yesterday giving a speech ... no teleprompter ... he was magnificent. Really, I had no idea Romney had so much in him.
All Mitt has to do is get Obama off his pre-memorized track, and he’ll eat his lunch. Go Mitt!!!
“What do you see as the tactic nobama will use?”
Cheap shots/lies delivered with that ever so smooth manner that the dumb undecided will accept as fact.
They are going to primarily hammer the 47 percent and Mediscare, not the Bain business.
Romney needs to push back w Obama classics - “you didn’t build that” and “the private sector is doing fine.”
“MSNBC has shown you the way! All you have to do is use our tested talking points!!” - Chris Matthews
Beyond an awful record to defend or deflect, Obama’s immediate problem is that the Town Hall is not a good format for getting angry. You can’t get angry to the questionner in replying, and you turn off independents if you are nasty to your opponent.
Obama’s hole is quite deep, because losing the first debate punctured, irrevocably, his media aura of invincability.
If he interrupts Romney, he is also interrupting those who are trying to LISTEN to Romney, similar to when someone carries on a conversation when you are trying to watch a movie in a theatre. It is a flawed strategy because of this. The person being interrupted needs to point out that the interrupter is being rude to the listening audience.
“Barack, it is funny you should say that because I hear you over and over again claiming how you saved GM and Chrysler. Well, you know what? You one ‘success,’ if we can call it that, comes at the hand of you emulating Bain and playing venture capitalist. How about that?”
The first thing they need to make sure of is that Obama is awake for the debate. I swear he slept through the first one. Once they’ve assured that he’ll be awake they can then figure out which lies will do the best for them.
Romney need to be very sweet (likeable) yet very, very TOUGH. I think he can pull it off.
I think he can pull it off because he really is a decent human being.
R should just say, “I’ve never worked at Bain.” and watch O’s temples cave-in.
That’ll only work well for nobama if this time Mitt’s the one smoking pot before the debate.
Obama is poor under pressure
