After enduring three days of outlandish claims and grievances about American life at the Charlotte convention, I wrote that “something shocking is happening to the Democratic Party.”
Five weeks later, I must amend the observation. The soul-sapping transformation is no longer “happening.” It is complete.
The Democratic Party has lost its mind and its way. Its political philosophy of inclusion and progress has been consumed by virulent strains of anger, dishonesty and intolerance. Its leaders don’t just want to win an election; they want to silence any American who disagrees with them.
Consider the latest evidence.
The White House, on defense over the assassination of our Libyan ambassador after Washington reduced security, launched a frantic search for a scapegoat. It first blamed protests over an anti-Muslim video and, when forced to admit the protests never existed, pointed fingers at intelligence officials and managers in the State Department. Watch your back, Hillary.
A campaign aide, with a straight face, also insisted that the terrorist attack is an issue only because Republicans politicized it. The buck doesn’t stop at this president’s desk.
A desperate Obama resorts to calling his opponent a “liar,” and his latest promise is to preserve taxpayer subsidies for public television’s cash cow, Big Bird. The tactic is denounced even by supporters as more cartoonish than the giant yellow canary. No matter — it’s a victory because another day passes without discussion of jobs, the debt, deficit or Iran.
Then there is Joe Biden. As I predicted, his manic behavior at the veep debate won the approval of Dems despondent over Obama’s flop at his debate. Biden’s rude laughs, snorts and sneers, combined with hectoring accusations of Paul Ryan, were catnip for those who see Republicans as unworthy and illegitimate.

Unfortunately though if you dare suggest that voting for a second party instead of the demopublican uniparty, you’re considered some sort of subversive. That’s particulalrly true here on FR.

It's not just silence them, it is control them. From the size of soda, to transfats, to how you interpret and practice your own religion, to how much you use to flush the toilet, to how much electricity runs through your smart meter, and on & on.... Things we should all have our own choices over is not what they want. While we have no issue with them turning their thermostat down to 45F at night...they should have no right to demand everyone else drink their soy milk. Why are they so obsessed with what everyone else is doing? Why does it so enrage them that Chick-fil-a is closed on Sunday? The worst thing is though, reading that these people think the government is in charge of charity and the taxes are your 'charitable' contribution to the nation. It is your obligation to pay tithes to the government. It is this mentality that then makes them believe all the rest of us need to be silenced...for we have sinned against the government.

I have a cousin (PhD in psychology; stereotypical university professor elitist; atheist; liberal; etc.)whose “take” on the debate was the opposite... He wrote, in effect: Rudeness in the face of mendacity is an acceptable debate tactic. -His implication being that Ryan was the liar rather than Biden...
My observation was: I must be GETTING old... I thought debates consisted of opposing opinions where one person spoke, THEN the other offered a rebuttal, without RUDE interruptions. The silliness of the laughter is demeaning to the seriousness of the debate.
His actions do remind me of Drew Peterson....especially as portrayed by Rob Lowe.

The response of the left to Biden’s rude behavior on the nationally televised debate is/was predictable. They loved it and insanely believe the rest of us loved Biden’s insanity, arrogance, and rude behavior.
With over 70 years of life and at least 60 of those years watching liberals lie and feel superior. Decades ago, I came to the conclusion, that they are all mentally unstable and there is no cure for them.
They all suffer from Illusory Superiority Responses. Often this cognitive bias increases with years of faux education and their illusory social status in their increasing unstable/immature minds.
Illusory Superiority Response is a cognitive bias that causes people to overestimate their positive qualities and abilities and to underestimate their negative qualities, relative to others. This makes them under estimate real winners like Ronald Reagan.
So they label anyone, who dares to challenge their insane/rude Illusory Superiority Responses, as red necked, stupid, knuckle draggers rather than listen to what we have learned over the years, decades and centuries from history.
With the instant reality, we now have with the internet, Fox and social nets, the left wing mediots are losing their ability to lie, cover, and omit their beloved Obama’s/Biden’s mentally unstable responses.

Vice President Joe Biden’s behavior during the Veep debate proved one thing: Team Obama has given up trying to win over independent voters and is betting it all on their base. Mr. Biden’s laughter, dismissive comments and smirks whenever Congressman Paul Ryan (R-Wisconsin) spoke was obviously an effort to placate those who react the same way when someone dares to point out President Obama’s failures and offers alternatives.
COMMENTS Although I have never experienced spouse abuse---I did some research on it to try to understand why women would marry such men.
Research showed that while dating, and in the early marriage,---the men acted normal --- EXCEPT they would gently touch the woman when trying to make a point---saying stuff like "honey, don't say that". The untimely, unnecessary touching escalated into beatings, even savage murders.
One woman dated while both were in the Army---he pulled stunts like climbing up the side of the barracks to get into her room---where he was prohibited from.
She never "got" that this very aggressive behavior would end up with wife-beatings while she endured a very abusive marriage.
CASE STUDY There's the book about a seemingly mild-mannered dentist who savagely murdered his wife----and even beat her to a pulp on their honeymoon.
When she introduced him to her grandfather while dating----the family was embarrassed b/c granddad became very upset---and demanded the man leave the house b/c he said "This man has a history."
They found out after the murder that the mild mannered dentist did indeed have a violent history.
