Everyone on the Hill knows this stinks to high heaven because they know in real life how intelligence works. They set this up and watched a man die in real time. This was purposeful and for an agenda. The question is- what was the agenda? I’ve lived in a small, foreign country and the only ex pats to socialize with were either military or associated with an embassy, consulate, High Commission, etc. They’re counting on the majority of the peons not to know what information is passed and how quickly. They are relying on our ignorance. I knew immediately what they said were all lies. There are people who should literally be hung over this. Makes Watergate look laughable.

If this story is true (and it rings true), I understood it that Obama was not notified until the helicopters crossed over into Pakistani airspace.
Then Obama was notified for an approval. Obama still had to sign off on the mission, but Panetta wanted to keep Obama and Jarrett out of the loop until the last minute (because they had scuttled 3-4 other missions to kill OBL).
In the case of Benghazi, as Hunt describes protocol, Obama would have needed to have been informed the moment the attack occurred. The only person who could have rejected any military assistance to the consulate and personnel during the attack was Obama himself.
At least, that is how I understood the implications of what Hunt said.
Pres, VP, State, Sec Def & various others ... all would have been notified immediately per Hunt. The link I had, Hunt’s voice was grainy, but I thought I understood him to say that if Hillary had picked up the phone & called Panetta and said “We need help at Benghazi, what assets do you have?” that Panetta had the authority to respond with assets. I’ll have to listen to it again on a better link - wish I had a transcript.
You are over thinking it. A tinfoil hat is not required.
The assault was an act of war pure and simple. It was merely another raid with the death of a very high value target as the outcome. It was well conceived and carried out.
It was a military operation and the source of the men who carried it out is unknown. There is a very good probability that some or all came from afar.
Holy carp! Sounds like one of barrys “lets not let a good crisis go to waste” moments....which of course leads to unintended consequences, as usual.
Unfortunately, the press is covering it up as well. They should ALL be hung for treason.
Very informative interview. I had no idea such things happen and how quickly they happen and how many people are involved throughout the world.
So, they ALL just sat and watched/listened as our 4 Americans died? Most likely tortured before hand? Did they hear their screams? Did they see them in agony?
Did they “enjoy” the “show”?

And then as a point of trivia at least one of the men who escaped the US embassy to the Canadian one in 1979 did so not by sneaking out, but by openly joining the crowd as a protester and shouting their slogans... and years later he's one of those opposing sanctions on the Iranian regime.
It reminds me of the Tahrir square uprising in Egypt where you can see westerners, including Americans like code pink & the Google guy heavily involved in stirring all that up. Did he really sneak out of the US embassy or was he one of the instigators in bringing down the Shah from the beginning, as Obama's admin brought down Mubarak? In the case of the Shah the Carter admin thought that a populist Marxist regime would be more useful than the Shah, and it looks like the Obama admin thought a populist regime full of groups allied with leftists would be more useful than Mubarak. And of course Brzezinski [sp] is involved yet again...
I never had that experience and even this peon knew by instincts that they are flat out lying their A$$s off big time.
I said from the start there was something going on besides official gummint business. This morning Lt Col Tony said the same thing on early Fox. The entire circumstance is just not how “official” US Gummint bidness gets done.
