Vice President Joe Biden's repeated laughter during Thursday's debate was a reflection of the "enormous amount of passion and joy" he brings to the job of serving the American people, White House press secretary Jay Carney said on Friday.
Biden has drawn criticism for cracking up when Paul Ryan was talking about everything from Medicare to tax cuts to Iran's quest for a nuclear weapon.
"The person I saw up there last night is somebody who is absolutely passionate about fighting for and defending the middle class... and who comes to his job -- this many years in to serving his country in the Senate and now to the White House -- with an enormous amount of passion and joy," Carney said.

You comments are reasoned. My problem with Romney is that I don’t want to have voted for a guy that’s going to replace Obamacare with Romneycare. This is how it’s going to play out right down the line. Deficit spending will continue. It may be a slower rate, but it will continue.
This guy doesn’t represent my views. He’s going to be another Bush on steroids. I say this, because coming off Obama, he’s going to look better even if he’s absolutely terrible. And I expect him to be terrible.
I’m not going to give anyone grief for voting for Romney. I have given it serious consideration myself. I can’t say categorically that I won’t. I’m pretty stubborn though, and I don’t see it happening.
