Vice President Joe Biden's repeated laughter during Thursday's debate was a reflection of the "enormous amount of passion and joy" he brings to the job of serving the American people, White House press secretary Jay Carney said on Friday.
Biden has drawn criticism for cracking up when Paul Ryan was talking about everything from Medicare to tax cuts to Iran's quest for a nuclear weapon.
"The person I saw up there last night is somebody who is absolutely passionate about fighting for and defending the middle class... and who comes to his job -- this many years in to serving his country in the Senate and now to the White House -- with an enormous amount of passion and joy," Carney said.

The sad thing is that no matter who wins the presidency next month, Joe Biden will immediately start running for the Democratic nomination in 2016. He will command the MSM airwaves, and the lunacy and demented laughter we heard last night will be ringing in our ears for years.
And Joe will be the ‘’inevitable’’ Democratic nominee for 2016, since thanks to last night’s performance, he’s won the support of the all-important left. He fought for them after Obama’s dismal performance last week brought gloom and doom to their quarters. Will we ever see the last of that crazy smile?
Yeh.....the middle class was so hyped up over Biden’s debate gig, all poor Joe could muster in a Wisconsin college arena this evening was a meager 2000 students, hippies, union thugs and has beens!!! Meanwhile Romney/Ryan turned out over 30,000 excited folks & supporters in Virginia & Ohio!!! Yeh......Joe.....ya really done good last night (not)!!!!
They are full of it.
I had to watch that a couple of times. I thought the song was “The old gay mare she ain’t what she used to be.” I thought it was the theme song to the Ellen Degeneres Show.

- Carney has been known as a pathetic “bi” long before his odd bearded marriage to another fellow “bi” traveler.....

Wow! That is lame even by the original Baghbob Bob’s standards. Slow Joe loves his job so much he couldn’t help but to uproariously laugh when the topics were about Iran’s nukes and the terrorist attack in Libya?
He was experiencing passion and joy at being obama’s court jester. His buffoon.
I didn’t see the whole debate yet as I was traveling yesterday. I have it on my DVR. I saw the last half hour and a number of clips/
The high frequency of all the posts complaining about the media and Biden’s lies tells me that things didn’t go the way that Ryan believers expected it would. The Dems are not whining as they were after the prior debate, they are cheering.
I would not take their celebration too seriously. They wanted to see Biden get rough with Ryan, and he was rude, but calmed down in the last part. Biden won some points, Ryan won some. Biden did act like a maniac for a while, but that's not too surprising.
My opinion: This round is a tie, but even if it wasn't, it would not matter much.
so did boy wonder come close to being the hero of the 'R's ???
or did slo joe actually succeed in being the alpha dog in the room ???
An idiot commenting on the actions of a fool.
One side is complaining, the other cheering. We have seen that before.
Next weeks O-R debate is the Town Hall meeting format. But unlike 1992 Obama is not the challenger nor is he a Bill Clinton. Romney needs to convince the audience that Obama is responsible for all the questioners problems.
Obama will be more aggressive than he was in the last debate.
Ha-Ha, Boy Wonder is a term I used last week, and ruffled some feathers.
Ryan wasnt especially bad but he clearly wasn't prepared to handle all Biden’s zingers, and it should have been obvious to everyone Biden would be in attack mode. All Biden’s attacks were predictable and Ryan should have had been prepared to blow them up in the air.
Biden going after Ryan for a letter he wrote asking for Stimulus money made me think of my skepticism of Ryan as the conservative Prince Valiant. Romney just HAD to pick another DC insider.
Obviously.
No and no.
Romney/Ryan fans complain about the moderator, but she didn't really do much.
Biden and the committed (and I do mean committed) left no doubt thought a maniacally grinning Biden was a great debate warrior, but he probably turned off as many undecided voters as he favorably impressed members of the Dem base.
But I don't think undecided voters are going to vote based on the VP debate.
