When President Barack Obama stepped off the stage in Denver last week the 60 million Americans watching the debate against Mitt Romney already knew it had been a disaster for him.
But what nobody knew, until now, was that Obama believed he had actually won.
In an extraordinary insight into the events leading up to the 90 minute showdown which changed the face of the election, a Democrat close to the Obama campaign today reveals that the President also did not take his debate preparation seriously, ignored the advice of senior aides and ignored one-liners that had been prepared to wound Romney.
The Democrat said that Obama's inner circle was dismayed at the 'disaster' and that he believed the central problem was that the President was so disdainful of Romney that he didn't believe he needed to engage with him.
'President Obama made it clear he wanted to be doing anything else - anything - but debate prep,' the Democrat said. 'He kept breaking off whenever he got the opportunity and never really focused on the event. 'He went into the debate armed with a number of one-liners to throw at Romney, including at least two about Romney not caring about 47 per cent of the country. But he decided not to use them.'

Again - this is a distraction trying to infer obama could have whopped ass but just didn’t want to dirty his bands. Baloney. It wasn’t that obama was so awful so much as romney was energized and firing on all cyclinders. Obama didn’t just have a bad night (which is fixable). Obama said the same crap he always says. So the story is not about obama - it is about romney
He may be suicidal on November 6; alternatively, he may be the world's most dangerous man on that date, out to exact revenge on the U.S. public for denying him his "birthright" of power over us.
Still, either of those would be better than another 4 years under Bathhouse Barry (no pun intended), since I believe that he will completely run the U.S. into the ground by then (whether on purpose or through sheer incompetence).

You’re right, it was inconceivable to him that he could ever lose anything. He’s had everything handed to him all his life. He thinks himself so grand that anything he wants is his. The Harvard education, the Illinois Senate, the U.S. Senate and even the presidency, handed to him, he didn’t earn or deserve any of it.

I remember the debates of ‘08, Obama wasn’t that bad, it may be debatable whether or not he out debated McCain but he definitely did better in ‘08 than in ‘12 and we may be certain that he will approach the next debate with a different persona.
He flew to Las vegas on our plane, burned our fuel to get there to prepare and then he didn’t prepare?
What did he do while he was there?
In the history of the United States no President has traveled as much as this character. Electing Mitt Romney will save us millions in fuel costs.
Then I think he’s gonna be shocked on November 6.
I think he likely will become suicidal and will need some serious professional attention.

The question is why the Daily Mail would publish this. It's counter-spin of a very peculiar sort, and I do not see the benefit, but I know what I saw in their facial expressions and body language.

I agree with you. During the debate my husband commented that he had never seen a black man blush due to mounting anger. Obama was blushing with anger. All that was missing was steam coming from those rather large ears!

Obama was out of his league and he knew it. The recognition of his own failure was easy to see on his face during the entire debate. He knew he couldn’t defend his miserable record, not against a man with the facts and one not afraid to use them.
The Obama’s know it’s over, they just don’t want to admit it. I look FORWARD to their Day of Tears, when that filthy tribe is forced to leave our White House for the final time.
He’s delusional. He thinks putting the Muslim Brotherhood in power and putting jihadists on Afghanistan bases is a winning strategy, too.

The Daily Mail is a conservative paper; or at least they post a LOT of conservative articles.
