DENVER Mitt Romney has flipped the script.
Not only is the Republican presidential candidate, after a brutal month following the conventions, getting a significant bounce following his strong performance in last weeks debate, but Romney is also now the candidate articulating a more inspirational, positive vision for the countrys future (even if he is quoting regularly from the show, Friday Night Lights).
President Barack Obama, meanwhile, whod benefited all summer from offering a more optimistic vision that contrasted with Romneys negative assessment of the countrys economic situation, now seems to be going small.

And Big Bird shoots back with “leave me out of this”.
So Obama has now played:
The Race Card
The Class Warfare Card
The War On Women Card
The Felon Card
The Murderer Card
...and now the The Big Bird Card
Did I forget any??
Vote for Big Bird.
Sticks and stones may break my bones, but calling Romney Big Bird might get him elected.
Too late. They’ll have to explain David Dees.

Playing the Big-Bird card might have been effective if the four to eight year old vote could have swung things in his direction.
Unfortunately this nine year old mind in an adult’s body, doesn’t seem to grasp that.
Having nothing but yes-men around him, nobody is there to tell him this is a bad idea. The ‘messiah’ (by his own reasoning) has spoken. His will be done...
And thus, he will be undone.
He wouldn’t want us to play the big “Beard” card.
Mr. President, youre entitled to your own house and your own airplane, but not your own facts.
For $500 million a year (what we give to PBS) we could provide the poor with cable service where they would get a DOZEN children and educational channels.
The fact is, PBS is a bad deal for taxpayers.
I seem to remember the orginal spin was “Mitt lied in the debate” and I guess that didn’t work, so now its Big Bird. I just have to wonder who approved this; it feels like something that belongs in a bad comedy movie..
Extra Extra:Big Bird releases his college records. Challenges 0bama to do the same.
40M “poor”. That’s $12.50 each per year. Not quite enough for such service.
...but to run with your idea:
Netflix is $8/month. Figure a bottom-end internet service is $12/mo. Let the recipient get their own one-time-cost “set top box” for under $100. Assume 4 people per home.
$240/yr x 10M = $2.4B
May be 5x what PBS gets, but I’m sure numerous other giveaways would also get resolved with a net savings and improved benefits quality.
Just for everyone’s grasp of the debt number,
$16 trillion paid off at $1 per second would take
507,000 YEARS to pay off.
