Michelle Obama: I had little understanding of military life before the White House

First lady Michelle Obama says that she had no idea of the breadth of sacrifices made by members of the military and their families before entering the White House.

"My connection to military life was pretty tangential," she said in an interview with ABC News set to air Tuesday. "Most Americans like me, they just don't have a clear idea of the sacrifice these men and women and their families make."

"I won't be satisfied -- nor will my husband -- until every single veteran and military spouse who wants a job has one. All of you deserve nothing less. Nothing less," she told ABC News.

What a bunch of .......! How about keeping them alive in the field first!!! You still have no clue about the fine military men and women and the sacrifices they do. The only reason you are doing this interview is for votes, other wise all we would hear is **crickets** and watching the daily/weekly death toll rise more and more under your MB loving husband.

….Mrs. Obama does not seem to understand the purpose and importance of ceremonies. They reaffirm the bonds of loyalty and fellowship that cement our national unity. Yes, at one level a flag is just a colorful piece of cloth. But it symbolizes much more. It is the emblem of our land and all its ideals. It has been present at every major event of any importance to the country, battles, celebrations, meetings, and the lunar landings. It is a symbol of unity that transcends party, faction and time. It is something uniquely and explicitly American. Men and women have fought and died for it. Our enemies hate us for it and burn it in the streets. All that should mean something.
