Mitt Romney's post-debate surge appears to have all but wiped out President Obama's once double-digit lead among women voters.
A new Pew Research Center survey depicted a remarkable swing in the numbers, with Romney pulling even among women in polling late last week. In September, the same polling outfit showed Obama leading by 18 points among women.
Among all likely voters surveyed, Romney climbed from an 8-point deficit last month to a 4-point lead.
There's little question that his debate performance has played a role. A separate Gallup survey showed registered voters deemed Romney the winner by 72-20 percent, marking the biggest debate victory in Gallup's recorded history.
The Pew poll showed a similarly big victory for Romney in the debate, and it appeared to translate into gains among several groups of voters. The Oct. 4-7 survey of 1,112 likely voters showed Romney leading 49-45 percent overall.
Among all registered voters surveyed, the two candidates also were tied.

BWHAHAHAHAH! War on women, indeed. Take THAT, Mila Kunis!
Probably because Romney was a man, not some simpering child. And the women could tell. The eye-candy will get you only so far with a woman.
This keeps up and election night will be very fun!
WONDERFUL news!!
If only we could erase Obama..Clinton..Carter..LBJ...
I think women actually started to become offended when they realized that the Democrat Party thinks of them as vaginas with voter registration cards.
“We know your deepest desire is to fornicate like a man, or like you think they do, without consequences, and we’ll make that entirely possible, while the other side wants to inhibit you from doing that.”
Yep, once that message starts to become apparent, you start to lose the decent people.
If Mitt is running even with women and he has a plus a 16pt advantage with independents then, as Pat Caddell said the other night on Hannity, “This race is over”.
Seriously, though, there is no “women’s vote”. They are not a monolithic group.
There are vast differences in views toward government among women who have a strong, stable relationship (marriage) with a good protector and provider, and those who do not.
One thing I find interesting is that during the GOP primaries, the endless series of debates, Romney never hit it out of the park. He was okay, nothing more. Caine won one and Gingrich was the obvious winner several times, I don't think Romney was ever crowned consensus victor though. He was adequate. In the last one or two, Romney got more aggressive and went into direct attack mode against Gingrich; he held his own against Newt which is good but still wasn't awesome. I think his best moment when he simply refused to take the bait from Stephanopolous on contraception. Other than that, I can't think of one memorable moment.
So for months, he does okay. Then he faces Obama and it's fireworks time. Either he has been playing possum for a year, or he finally found his stride at just the right moment, or Obama was so bad it energized him. Personally, I think having to elevate his game against Gingrich at the end of the primary debate series paid huge dividends in helping him find the right tone. To that extent, if my theory holds water, Newt's refusal to quit might end up being indirectly responsible for taking out Obama. But either way wow, what a time to peak!
Perfect.
But we already knew the left was a bunch of douches. Nice of them to finally prove it....lol.

I thought the Cartoon Network had canceled Angry Beavers.
Apparently not.
I agree with your assessment of the Romney advantage from his experiences in debates with Newt, Rick, Herman and Michele, etc.
We, however, must not forget the “Prayer Warriors for Mitt & Paul”. There is a sizable contingent all over the country who are praying to God, in their own unique sectarian way, for the salvation of our beloved country.
Last Wednesday, I said a prayer of thanks following the first Obama/Romney debate. You see, I am one of the believers in the power of prayer. Obama really handicaps himself when he and his ilk diss the religious right like they do. GOd will not be mocked.
