Evolution, embryology and the Big Bang theory are major underpinnings of mainstream science. And Georgia Republican Rep. Paul Broun, a physician who sits on the House Science, Space and Technology Committee, says they are “lies straight from the pit of hell.”
Broun, who is unopposed for reelection in November, made the comments in a videotaped Sept. 27 speech at a sportsman's banquet at Liberty Baptist Church in Hartwell, Ga., according to the Associated Press.
Here are his remarks:
“God’s word is true. I’ve come to understand that. All that stuff I was taught about evolution, embryology, Big Bang theory, all that is lies straight from the pit of hell. It’s lies to try to keep me and all the folks who are taught that from understanding that they need a savior. There’s a lot of scientific data that I found out as a scientist that actually show that this is really a young Earth. I believe that the Earth is about 9,000 years old. I believe that it was created in six days as we know them. That’s what the Bible says. And what I’ve come to learn is that it’s the manufacturer’s handbook, is what I call it. It teaches us how to run our lives individually. How to run our families, how to run our churches. But it teaches us how to run all our public policy and everything in society. And that’s the reason, as your congressman, I hold the Holy Bible as being the major directions to me of how I vote in Washington, D.C., and I’ll continue to do that.”

In Missouri, clergy in the fray of Akin race, seeing it as start of a ‘battle for the soul’ of GOP
Nearly 400 Missouri pastors gathered at the podium of a hotel ballroom recently to pray over the kneeling figure of Rep. Todd Akin, a Senate candidate whose campaign had been pronounced dead by national Republican leaders weeks before.
Akin’s political revival has become a cause celebre for this group of clerics and other conservatives, who have launched a carefully orchestrated effort to lift the GOP candidate back into contention for a seat that could help decide control of the Senate.
“People are drawn to Akin’s cause because they see it as the opening battle for the soul of the Republican Party,” said strategist David Lane, who has spent months in the state organizing pastors to fight for Akin, at times bucking the wishes of GOP leaders in Washington. Akin’s campaign, Lane said, represents the fight against establishment politicians, their consultants and “a morally flawed approach to politics.”
Nah, no connection whatsoever. Just a coincidence that both legs of the LAT-WP news service publish articles about crazy conservative religious wackos in flyover country.
Gee, that sounds like a real appropriate committee that he was assigned to!

I agree with the congressman completely.
I do not care about how an individual feels on the topic. Believe what you want. All things are possible through G_d. I will find out the truth someday, however G_d did this wonderful thing.

And yet, animals would never do some of the things that humans do.
There is evidence that the earth is 4.3 billion years old. Life began many years after its creation and has evolved.
I see nothing that conflicts with His word.
Right or wrong, bringing this sort of stuff up in the last month of a critically-important election is insanely stupid. Especially, when the guy doing doesn’t even need to campaign.

He was a scientist (invented the pasteurization process) that fought AGAINST the current theory of the origin of life of his time.....It was called Spontaneous Generation.
Read about how he was called all sorts of names, blacklisted, and removed from the Academy of Science....After 20 or so years, his theory of disease formation was finally accepted, meanwhile he made lots of money selling his process that the scientific community said was worthless.
He finally was asked BACK into the Academy of Science, where he spoke about the Spontaneous Generation theory, and told the same people this
“You have exchanged one lie (Spontaneous Generation) for another (Dawwin’s Theory of Evolution).” He said that Darwin’s theory was even more idiotic in it’s beliefs than that of Spontaneous Generation.
Essentially these “Theories” are desired to fight against the notion that immensely intelligently designed life MUST have a maker.
For example, consider a butterfly, that can do the following
1) reproduce more of it’s kind
2) fly thousands of miles (migration of monarch butterfly for example)
3) Find it’s own power (food)
4) Weigh less than 2 ounces
5) Navigate
6) Avoid predators.
Now take EVERY BIT of the engineering excellence we have — can mankind (in all it’s knowledge and ability) make such a thing? And yet it happened by random chance? REALLY? REALLY?
This boggles the mind that somebody can be THAT STUPID
Science is a game we play with God to find out what his rules are.
Correct, mainly because humans have the faculty of reason.
Nevertheless, humans are noticably fallible; especially when humans chuck reason.
Some people act like animals. Some people build landers and set them down right on schedule and in a location of their choosing on Mars
Which G_d? Mankind has invented and worshipped thousands of them over the millenia.
The only thing they have in common is that none of them have been proven to exist.
I might believe in the possible existence of the one you are referring to, I just don't know which one it is.

Yes, and evolutionists have reasonably concluded that "Natural Selection" happenings are nothing more than successful random changes.
The Congessman is right as no so called scientist has demonstrated that anything on the earth is more than 9000 years old.
