The national interests of the United States would not be advanced by getting involved in a conflict between the Iranian-backed government and the Muslim Brotherhood backed rebels. We should stay out and get popcorn.

I would stay out of it. Humanitarian aid only and only after the shooting stops. Furthermore, drop the aid from the air. No personnel for the savages to kidnap.

Well, I would arm them too, but not to win. Just to keep destroying Syria.

I would take the same approach throughout the entire muslim world.

There are NO good guys involved there, and we don’t have a dog in that fight. Idiot position, Mitt.

Sounds like he’s made the mistake of listening to John McCain. It’s about time that Americans realized that, in today’s Middle East, of all the possible outcomes, none of them are good outcomes.

Best to stay out of these tribal conflicts and civil wars.

Yes... in the entire history of islam... those that arm the beast... are attacked with their own arms. If Mitt said this... he is also an idiot when it comes to the ME. I cannot imagine Benjamin not schooling this boy.

Romney to propose new sanctions on Iran, new help for Syrian rebels
CBS News·45 minutes ago Romney plans to call for more direct intervention in Syria, including making sure anti-government opposition forces have weapons. According to CBS, it looks like he is going to want to do this due to the loss of control of WMD’s.

Considering the WMD’s have already been moved and “lost track of,” by our intelligence community it just might make some sense.

Supposedly will be rebels who have our values>>>course America doesn't have a good track record with that?

Arm your friends, not your enemies. I don't see any friends in the Syria war, so I see no one to send arms.

At this time, especially with the uber-screwups of Obama & Clinton running the show, the USA needs to stay neutral.

Looks like he’s going to follow the same insane path. Not good.

http://www.mittromney.com/issues/middle-east

“To protect our enduring national interests and to promote our ideals, a Romney administration will pursue a strategy of supporting groups and governments across the Middle East to advance the values of representative government, economic opportunity, and human rights, and opposing any extension of Iranian or jihadist influence. The Romney administration will strive to ensure that the Arab Spring is not followed by an Arab Winter.”

The USA should never, repeat never, get involved with any muzzie state, no matter what side is winning or losing.

This may be a "flag-raising" planted leak from the Romney camp to see who salutes and who doesn't before issuing final hard-bound positions. The flag can be quickly lowered if necessary.

However to me, if this is indeed flag-raising, all it does is compound the problem of the camp not coming up with a viable position on this issue in the first place.

I think both sides of this mess are terrible. I think we should stay out of picking the lesser of two evils. Don’t listen to McCain, Romney!
