Big harry deal. I’m am a conservative, and so far right they had to add a new plank for me to stand on, but I have 3 level 85 World of Warcraft characters. It’s a game people. It has nothing to do with politics, and it’s just a game. Trust me, I am not taking up for a liberal, but I am defending World of Warcraft. It’s just a game, and the very best one at that.

Yeah, this is tremendous way to make the GOP as unpopular as possible with young people by looking square, and horrifically out of touch (which a lot of people on FR seem to want to do as well.)

I play Eve Online so I’m not sure about your last comment but the rest is true. I try to contain myself when I hear comments like “OMG you play video games! Dork!!” They usually come from the same people who watch TV for 4+ hours a night while browsing Facebook and Pinterest on their phones.

Games are just another way to enjoy life during downtime. Nothing more.

Yeah, I just got my main to level 90 last night. They did a good job with the latest expansion.

Interestingly, if what I’ve read elsewhere is true, she’s part of a guild originally formed for diarists and readers at Daily Kos; the guild only accepts people willing to agree to a progressive statement of principles.

The playerbase generally skews pretty liberal but that’s more due to the age of the average player (mid-late 20s) than anything else.

(And to the guy who mentioned Horde a few posts down...my main is Horde, a Tauren. The few conservatives I know in my circle of WoW-playing friends almost all play Horde. Not sure why that is. But we don’t play on a PvP server, and those tend to be Horde-heavy.)

I think the issue is just a time concern.

I love games as much as the next guy, and used to spend many useless hours on MP shooters, console, PC games, etc. when I was in college and was single. But with a family and work, I find enough time to barely get through 3 or 4 games a year; single player campaigns mostly that take 8-10 hours tops, maybe a tiny bit of MP. Games like COD and Spec Ops: The Line (which was incredible by the way).

But games like EVE, WoW, and other MMOs and RPG type games take a massive, huge investment of time. I don't see how anyone with demanding jobs, family, children, a spouse, not to mention the demands of elected office, could possibly find time to sink 200+ hours into a video game. I remember I put about 20 hours into Red Dead Redemption two years ago, but that was recovering from a brutal tonsillectomy and adenoids removal. I truly envy someone with hours of spare time in a day to play video games, but I probably wouldn't vote for them to hold elected office.

It is just a game, and yeah - probably still the best of it's type out there. But it's not nearly as good as it was back in Burning Crusade. They made an already easy game too easy to be interesting anymore.

Yeah, maybe I did pick on Warcraft a little too much, but still I like online gaming from time to time, right now, I’m trying to get me a Sherman tank in World of Tanks.

I will side with you on this one. I am also not sticking up for the liberal, but attacking a gamer .... Nah, don’t go there! There is nothing wrong with gaming and that should be left alone - unless of course you are caught gaming while at work!
