Team Obama made a priceless gaffe on Tuesday. Someone posted an e-card on barackobama.com of a woman with the text: “Vote Like Your Lady Parts Depend On It.” It begs the question, "But what if said lady parts are unemployed?" Obama shouldn’t take anyone's support for granted…

The e-card was quickly taken down, but the citizen journalists on Twitter had already copied and promoted it, preserving it for future generations. [Beware the sharp eyes and long memory of the internet.] This is a new low in the Obama campaign’s effort to fight and win the culture war on the Left’s terms. It started by trying to force religious employers to provide contraception as part of their workers’ health insurance. Then there was the bizarre nominating convention, which was so obsessed with abortion and contraception that it felt less like a major political event than a sex education seminar. In the spirit of the times, it wouldn't have been inappropriate for Nancy Pelosi to demonstrate how to put a condom on a banana.

....At the risk of appearing antediluvian, I’d also like to raise the “yuck factor”. Do genitals belong in a presidential campaign? Is this borderline smut (or at least tacky innuendo) and, if so, why was it ever allowed to be put up online? It’s part of a worrying trend. Recently, Samuel L Jackson released a video in which he tells a suburban family to “Wake the f**k up” and vote for Obama. It features a little girl swearing and reminding her sisters that if Romney wins then they could lose their access to contraception services. America's come a long way from The Waltons.....
