Leading into tomorrows presidential debate, journalists are busy setting expectations for the candidates. On Sundays Good Morning America, ABCs George Stephanopoulos argued that Mitt Romney is under huge, huge pressure: He is behind right now. He is behind nationally, hes behind in all of the battleground states. This is the last big audience that Mitt Romney is going to have with about four and a half weeks left to go.
But more undecided voters will be swayed by the medias post-debate spin about who won and who lost than by any pre-debate expectations. Reviewing the last several campaigns, MRC analysts have found a clear trend of network reporters fawning over the performance of liberal candidates, while harping on any perceived weaknesses or gaffes from conservatives.
One of the most reliable pro-Democratic pundits is none other than George Stephanpoulos not especially surprising, given his track record as a loyal operative for Bill Clintons 1992 presidential campaign, but hardly the objective, unbiased voice touted by ABC News. MRC has documented how, in eight out of the last nine general election presidential debates (every one since he joined ABC News in 1997), Stephanopoulos has gone on his networks airwaves to claim victory for the Democratic candidate, all in the guise of offering impartial analysis.
Stephanopoulos even called Al Gore the winner after the first debate in 2000, the one in which the Democratic candidates excessive sighs and rude interruptions were parodied by Saturday Night Live in a classic spoof. (SNLs Al Gore: Jim, Id like to interrupt here and answer that question as if it were my turn to speak.)
This past Sunday, previewing Wednesdays debate, Stephanopoulos even raised the topic with Donna Brazile, who was Gores campaign manager that year: I know for a fact that everyone on your team

ABCNEWS Stephanopoulos declares Dem winner in 8 of 9 last debates...
Stephanopolis is a toady.
He fits right in with the rest of the liberal journalists.
“This is the last big audience that Mitt Romney is going to have with about four and a half weeks left to go.”
funny- i thought there were three presidential debates and one VP debate...
Georgie Stepalloverus is the perfect stooge. He has had his time now being invited into the mushy brains of the viewers on ABC. He’s conditioned them not to think but to react to his words as if it were actually true...so he has that going for him.
Sounds to me like he is leading the PRE-Debate Media Spin.
What outrages me is that the GOP allows George, Bob Schieffer, Gwen Ifil, David Gregory and others of that ilk to moderate all the debates.
Could Michelle Malkin get a turn? Rush? Jonah Goldberg? Nope. I guess not. The GOP supports Democrat operatives, in a position of power, for debate moderators.
That outrages me.
little georgie personally wrecked an entire republican debate during the primaries by insisting on repeatedly dragging the conversation off onto contraception.
stephanopolis needs to get his mind out of other people’s underpants.
I Haven’t watched ABC’s news programs since about 1991.
I wouldn’t watch George Stephanopoulos on a bet. I could not care less how he spins things.
He’s NOT a reporter. Duh. It’s a disgrace they even hired him. He was used to trot out the “war on women” fantasy too.
Georgie Will, Peggy Nooner, Joe Scarface and Billie Cwistal will all be agreeing with Steponallofus that Obama won the debate on style points.
Pray for America
Who care what this aging metrosexual has to say? He is part of the ungodly media, driving our country over the cliff.
He fits right in with the rest of the liberal journalists.
Yep. We didn’t expect anything less from the derranged, communist, main stream media, Obama lap dogs.
I see that our talks with the Taliban just collapsed. Who knows what might happen tomorrow? The president may be needed elsewhere ...
Never trust anything coming out of that little sh*ts’ mouth.
The talking points are already written. Obama couod show up, blow his nose, make audible gas,and forget his lines and they will spin it as an “Obama win”. The best Romney can hope for is they might say “he didn’t win, but he didn’t lose which isn’t enough.”
We either vote for the survival of our country or against it.
Regardless of how these rigged debates are judged, I will choose to vote against the complete destruction of America.
— I will vote for Romney.
And the leftwing media will go apecrap over how impressive the community organizer was in taking charge of the false flag incident and putting the nation over an election event.
As I’ve been saying, guillotines from orbit, it’s the only way to be sure ...
