Ross Perot: No 2012 endorsement
Politico ^ | October 1st | PATRICK GAVIN

Ross Perot, the billionaire who shook up the 1992 presidential campaign, has largely remained silent since his emergence on the nation’s political stage nearly two decades ago and as he emerges from the shadows (in part to drum up interest in his forthcoming autobiography) he’s remaining silent about one more thing: The current top candidates running for office.

Old Ross has endorsed his stuffed rabbit “Mr. Hoppy” for President.

“Mr. Hoppy likes pudding and so do I! That’s why he should be President!”, said Perot.

This article is Perot being Perot. Lots of talk about how “we have to fix this” without any solutions. Does he want more taxes? Does he want to cut spending? Who knows? Its easier just saying “we have to fix this mess and current politicians aren’t doing it.” What about the Tea Party? Well, old Ross thinks they are “interesting” but doesn’t like their solution (cutting spending). Just bromides. Ross hasn’t changed much in 20 years.

Sadly Perot has been right about all his predictions... sadly...

Sadly he either intentionally fumbled the 92 election, or had some sorta pressure applied to him we will never know about ever for him to have botched it so badly...

Sadly.. Perot Killed any viable thrid party option for the next 50 years...

Sadly...

Perot performed a great disservice to the USA....

He should remain out of sight....
And keep his pie-hole shut...

Still amazed at how many seemingly good intentioned folks fell for that little fraudster.

Romney is not against NAFTA and Obama just lies about being against NAFTA. So I did not anticipate the Lil’ General endorsing either.

****************************************************************
He didn’t botch the election...he denied the Presidency to the Republicans and gave it to Bill Clinton. Mission accomplished.

Perot was described above as a POS. He’s more like a trainload of S**t in my book.

For the posters on this thread who like Perot, please tell me, what was his solution for the deficit? I’m not being sarcastic. Did he want to cut spending? Did he want to raise taxes? All I remember him saying in 1992 was that he was going to get Democrats and Republicans to “work together” and he wanted a commission. I don’t remember him making any real specific proposals that would actually solve the deficit problem.

He’s remained out of sight because he was afraid that the GOP would disrupt his granddaughters’ kindergarten graduation.

Michael Berry on his radio program is talking about Perot right now. He blames him not only for Clinton but also for lots of other bad stuff.

Oh....if the RINOS blow this you're gonna see a Third Party Option. And the Pubbies will be #3.

So how is that going to work? UNITED RATS = 45%, GOP = 30%, 3RD PARTY = 25%.

So the RATS will just keep winning in perpetuity, but the 3rd party types will be happy to keep blowing their brains out just as long as they blow the brains out of the GOP.

Old Ross knew he couldn’t win, so why did he run? He spent a lot of time, money and effort which resulted in eight years of Bill Clinton taking credit for the economy Reagan and Bush left him. Everybody forgets that President Bush had a 92% approval rating after DESERT STORM. I still remember the press conference where President Bush basically called a reporter an idiot. You could just see all the reporters screwing-up their faces with an “I’ll get you for that!” look. So, the press gave us Ross Perot. Clinton never received a majority of the popular vote. The press gave us two of our last three Presidents.

And yet, out of extreme personal vanity, he somehow cannot find a candidate to endorse. Somehow in Perot’s warped brain Obama, who added $5 trilion of debt in 3.5 years, holds rough parity to Romney in terms of solutions.

For the same reason he intentionally derailed Bush and gave the country Clinton, he now pops his head up and says he is unable to endorse anyone. Pffft... As if anyone still holds Perot in any esteem anyway, I suppose.

Yes, you are correct. This happened in Canada about 15 yrs. ago (Google “C-CRAP”) At the end of the day the result was a much more energetic and conservative Conservative Party.

The dire downside is that the Liberals did run amok in the meantime until the RINOS cried Uncle and the Right consolidated.

But I tell you right now the Tea Party is NOT gonna allow the GOP to play Charlie Brown and the Football for a third time in a row.

I honestly still do not know if Perot was a plant or just a useful idiot who the left built up and then destroyed when he was no longer useful?
The fact that his Presidential asperation started and more less ended/? on the Larry King Show kind of makes me wonder.

Its interesting that one of Perot’s appeal was his Business background and his good deed doing.
Simular to Romney.

I’m saying a third party needs to emerge within 6-12 month of a Romney Admin if it turns out Romney is a dud.
They need to raise needed funds and more importantly set up the infrastructure.
