Gary Johnson Gains Support And May Take Ohio Out of Play for Romney
Reason ^

The usual wisdom is that, as election day grows closer, support for third-party candidates tends to shrivel as the voting public heeds the tribal war drums and comes home to Team Red or Team Blue in a ritualistic display of political masochism that could be topped only by the sight of actual hair-shirted flagellants lined up to enter the polling booths. That third-party shrinkage may not be happening this year, though — or not yet, at least. A new poll from Ohio shows Gary Johnson gaining support, even as press reports emphasize the hold-your-nose-quality in which both major-party candidates marinate, and which may have voters looking elsewhere for options.

There was a Gary Johnson campaign ad on last night here in Atlanta. Based on the ad I’m not seein much interest in Gary.

Bush did not “screw the middle class” in any way.

Read My Lips, No New Taxes.

New World Order.

He was not Ronald Reagan's third term like he promised.

Glad none of that affected the Middle Class.

"Perot led to 8 years of Clinton."

There is a systemic failure in a culture that holds a man such as Clinton, in such high esteem. Perot was a factor, but the electorate was and is the problem.

No sane Freeper can believe that even a cabbagae patch doll should be ahead by 20 in this race.

There is an enemy at work in the world and we cant seem to define him, but until we do, don't expect things to get better.

Pro-abort, pro-homo marriage Neville Chamberlain Johnson takes more from Obummer than he does Romney. What republican would ever vote for this character. He’s a democrat, calling himself a libertarian, who was a joke running as a republican.

I thought you were referring to Bush II but the tax increase under George I hardly amounted to a “screwing” either. Can you honestly remember how much it cost you?

George did not understand the Laffer Curve or tax generation no doubt, and created his own defeat by giving the idiot electorate yet another chance to show it does not understand the difference between style and substance.

Like we’ve done great with presidents named Johnson.

One got impeached and the other gave us the Great Society.

Yes I can. Eight years of Clinton & Clinton, of course some here count that as a plus.

The recession was over and GDP growth was already positive a couple of months before the election in 1992. Bush Sr. never capitalized on that and the media kept carrying then as now the liberal meme of there being no jobs.

Carville gave them the lead with his “It’s the economy, stupid”

His wife was in the process of divorcing him right before he decided to run. I’m sure she knows something about him that we don’t, and I’ll bet it ain’t good.

She died of natural causes after the divorce and before he decided to run.

I have no qualms about being classified as a Jeffersonian liberal or libertarian.

I'm sorry you do.

You are pretending to be relevant in the Presidential election.

You are not.

Vanity has no place in this race.

You are pretending to be relevant in the Presidential election.

I'm not pretending, I know I am not and neither are you.

Individuals have no right to vote in a presidential race

Also, I am a red-stater in a blue state with very little population and only 5 electoral votes.

So what I think or do can only matter in one way: to keep the Libertarian Party as a major party for future elections.

Why are you voting?

“I have no qualms about being classified as a Jeffersonian liberal or libertarian.” Both are colossal frauds.
