Naturally, if you support Obama and are treated every day to wall-to-wall news headlines showing Obama so far ahead of Romney in the polls that the election is basically over, then you're less likely to go out of your way to vote in November. So there's a really fine line between turning out your voters and turning off your voters when using polling data like this.

I also agree. I live in the People’s Democratic Socialist Republic of Illinois (admittedly not near Chicago) and I have yet to see any bumper stickers for the big Zero.
” probably see more 0bama yard signs in nice neighborhoods than anywhere,”
Probably self defense before the riots start-—THEY don’t want the locusts to trash their neighborhood after Bath-House Barry loses.
Maybe but I didn’t pay for mine....
I find ‘stickers’ that I like on a website, print it off and tape it to the inside of my car’s rear window. I have four anti-O displayed right now.
“Im not sure, but I think early on Romney decided yard signs and bumper stickers werent too important. I see almost none for either candidate. Plus, both Obama and Romney charge for stickers and signs.”
Took a ride on the Harley this morning/afternoon.
I started out in SW Connecticut, crossed over into northern Westchester County on the New York side, rode north into southern Dutchess county, then back down into CT again.
I saw very few “yard signs”, and they were all for “local candidates”.
I didn’t see a single “Obama” or “Romney” sign. Not one.
Awfully quiet “out there”.
Kinda strange, actually....
Right, in AL a state going 55-45 for Romney you see 5 times as many Obama bumper stickers. Where do you live across the street from the AL state Democrat HQ?
“Skewed polls, sure, no question. What will you say though if after all these skewed polls Obama still wins? Honest question, what will you say?”
If that happens, there’s gonna be a lot of chirpin’ crickets around this place come November 7th...
And a few truckloads of frozen crow, ready to microwave and serve!
The way I see it:
SOME of the polls are “skewed”. Perhaps more than a few.
But at least a small number of the polls aren’t.
Even those polls that aren’t skewed — Rasmussen, for example — show an uphill climb for Romney in states like Florida, Ohio, and Virginia. The warning signs are out there.
Let’s wait 3 more weeks and see how things start to firm up when the debates are done. If Romney’s going to win, it ought to be apparent by then...
Think about this. How do the polls effect turn out? Could 1-2 points worth of GOP votes nation wide be convinced that "it is hopeless, why should I vote" by these skewed polling?
The GOP has to fight this polling war every single election
Thanks Ernest.

THis is an interesting thought piece which might answer your question.
Obama's Libya Lies Collapse: Senate Democrats Demand Answers
I live in a heavily Republican area just south of Columbus, OH. In 2008, there were yard signs and bumper stickers everywhere for both candidates. Eerily, I have yet to see any for either candidate yet. I don’t know what to make of it.
The proposition form the MSM is that Obama is going to win it all and that polls are showing him surging in a wave of excitement.
If this is true, then the Obama signs should be all over the place to reflect this gushing exuberance; yet, they are nowhere to be found. Democrats are an in your face bunch but they are not in anybody’s face with their signs. That is what is significant. If they are so hot for O they should be proud to show it off with signs. That is what democrats do which is to show off their emotions. They are not doing that which is totally out of character. That is the point here.
We are concluding that the democrats are not at all into these elections and as I keep saying if they are led to believe they have it in the bag they will conclude they do not need to show up and vote. On the contrary, democrats seem depressed and dejected not at all what the polls reflect. It is not hard to conclude that they will not see the point in voting because they have no excitement and they will think there are so many others who are excited that their vote won’t matter anyway.
These polls are pure fantasy and if you read through the lines the MSM is lying so hard because they too know they are losing big and have nothing left but to lie because reality is so badly against them— an economy going into recession again, unemployment, an assassinated ambassador, layoffs, declining home prices, riots, crime, lies etc., etc.
Poll Ping.
Agreed.
I take this as a very positive sign actually. Could be wrong, but I think it shows that there are fewer Obama supporters that want to admit it. But I also think that there are a lot of Romney supporters who are, well, afraid to be too public.
