... when it comes to the artist with the most Billboard Hot 100 hits, Elvis Presley**'s longstanding record total gives way to a new stats king: Lil Wayne**.
As he debuts as a featured artist (with Chris Brown**, Tyga** and Wiz Khalifa**) on Game**'s aptly titled "Celebration" at No. 82, the superstar rapper rewrites the mark for the most Hot 100 chart visits. Now with 109 entries, Weezy passes Elvis Presley, who totaled 108 between the chart's 1958 launch and 2003.

These are records that made the top ‘100’ charts, which is meaningless. Example: I have twenty top 100 chart records that in total sales sell three million records, and you have one ‘number one’ record, that sells 12 million copies... who sold the most records?
Of course it is.
That's not analysis. It's just whining.
What is it with Chris Brown featuring Rihanna, Lil Wayne featuring Bow Wow.
Can’t anyone do their own songs anymore?
You never saw The Rolling Stones featuring Frankie Valli or The Monkees featuring Bobby Sherman. Sure there were one off colloborations like the Temptations and Supremes and Glenn Campbell and Bobbie Gentry but this “featuring” phenomenon is ridiculous.
Lil who?
It is music but it is BAD music. The music almost always is auto tuned, and steals samples of other people’s original music. It is rarely innovative and usually features former gang members or ghetto trash as “stars.” It is music for and by degenerates.
Culturally, the crap that is rap is way way WAY below the music of Elvis’ era.
I guess what Sans-Culotte meant was, as music, it sucks. I agree.
Rapper 'Ludacris'
Lyrics to Ludacris' Obama rap song, "Obama Is Here":
"Hey... I'm back on it
like I just signed my record deal, yeah the best is here
The Bentley Coupe paint is drippin wet, it got sex appeal
Never shoulda hated, you never shoulda doubted him
With a slot in the President's iPod, Obama shouted him
Said I handled my biz and I'm one of his favorite rappers
Well give Luda a special pardon if I'm ever in the slammer
Better yet put me in office, make me a Vice President
Hillary hated on you so that bitch is irrelevant
Now Jesse talkin slick and apologizin for WHAT~?!
If you said it then you MEANT it how you want it, head or gut
And all you other politicians tryin to hate on my man
Watch us win majority vote in every STATE on my man
You cain't stop what's 'bout to happen, we 'bout to make history
The first black President it's destined and it's meant to be
The threats ain't fazin us, the nooses or the jokes
Get off your ass black people it's time to get out and vote
Paint the White House black and I'm sure that's got 'em terrified
McCain don't belong in ANY chair unless he's paralyzed
Yeah I said it cause Bush is mentally handicapped
Ball up all of his speeches and just throw 'em like candy wraps
Cause what you talkin I hear nothin even relevant
And you the worst of all 43 Presidents
Get out and vote, or the end'll be near
And the world is ready for change cause Obama is here
YEAHHH! Cause Obama is here
The world is ready for change cause Obama is here
Yeahhhh, cause Obama is here
Say world is ready for change cause Obama is here
Hey!

Yeah, but Zamfir outsold both Elvis and Lil Wayne.....in Romania.
Whatever. I didn't realize we had to provide detailed answers for you. Sure, Rap is music. And a crucifix in urine or a photo of a guy with a feather-duster up his arse is art. Happy now?
ugh
did not need that
Yes they will. He will be on 60 minutes being interviewed from jail saying he was wronged! lol
Lol!
Is it meaningful to compare incomprehensible tribal chants to actual music?
Elvis could actually sing and make music that was pleasant and enjoyable to listen to.
Rap/hip-hop is music? Hum me a few bars.
It's great marketing if done correctly.
It's wrong to think of popular music in the old "band" framework, where musical groups wrote their own songs, put out music by albums and picked out producers.
The producers are now in the driver's seat - they write and produce individual tracks and decide which singers/MCs they think would be best for them, mixing and matching artists to create the most saleable combinations.
This is, in a way, a return to the model of the late 50s/early 60s where labels had stables of performers and also house songwriters and assigned songs to performers they felt were best suited to the material.
A lot of wannabe suburban white kids buy his stuff.
Are you saying that major hip hop hits like "Empire State of Mind" have no melody?
Really?
Never heard of her...
I'll take Wayne King over any rapper, any day, any time.
