One of my mother’s favorites, and though as I kid I thought his music a bit sappy it’s grown on me since, and I always loved his Christmas specials.

Strange . . . consider ex-wife Claudine Longet. She and Williams divorced in 1975 after 14 years and three kids. Longet shot her lover, Olympic skier “Spider” Sabich in 1976 and, with ex-hubby’s money and lawyers, turned the trial into another O.J. moment. She was eventually convicted of misdemeanor negligent homicide. Since then, Longet has dropped off the public radar. After the trial, Longet vacationed with her lawyer from the “Spider” Sabich trial, Ron Austin, while he was still married. Longet married Ron Austin in 1985.
